Mahindra USA Invests In Parts Facility & Headquarters Expansion

Mahindra-rise-new-logo2Mahindra USA begins phasing in its all-new parts facility in July 2015 and is expected to be fully online by the end of the year. Mahindra, the number one selling tractor brand in the world based on volume, has invested more than $1 million in a major expansion that triples the parts department footprint and increases office space at its Houston headquarters. The additional space includes an automated parts storage and retrieval system tied directly to the shipping and receiving operations that continue to be managed by Pierce Distribution Services. This expansion supports and fuels continued growth in North America.

“Our investment in expanding Mahindra’s North American headquarters, and renovating our parts facility, will provide our dealer network and customers with unrivaled service and support. Outpacing industry growth in North America while maintaining 97 percent customer satisfaction ratings, requires we grow and evolve internally,” said Cleo Franklin, Vice President Marketing & Strategic Planning for Mahindra USA. “Our customers and dealers are our best brand advocates and we earn this by delivering value from tractor sales to aftermarket support.”

The fastest growing tractor manufacturer in North America, Mahindra earned the number three position for North American tractor sales in 2013 and has steadily increased market share and brand awareness. Reflecting the company’s rapid growth, this is the third major expansion of the parts facility in the last six years. The hallmark of this expansion for the parts department is the shift from a 100 percent manual operation to a nearly fully automated carousel system to manage parts storage and retrieval. The carousel has capacity for 29,000 parts and will be the centerpiece of the new integrated warehouse management system.

“First-time-right service is the goal of automating our parts management system and expanding the warehouse space. We are committed to meeting this goal and delivering best-in-class service to our dealers,” said Gene Medeiros, Senior Manager, Parts Operations, Mahindra USA, Inc.

Mahindra USA began working with Pierce in 2013 to manage their parts inventory and shipping and receiving operations. Pierce is a leader in the industry and experienced in handling service parts for major corporations in the agricultural and heavy equipment industries and has contributed best-practice expertise in the development of this new facility and its systems.

In addition to the parts facility, the Houston headquarters expansion includes new and expanded office and conference space for the growing corporate staff and to provide additional training facilities and services to support the growing Mahindra dealer network.
