Need to free a Transmission is locked / rusted

I removed the top plate previously and it has some surface rust, so it is probably rusted together and not stuck in gear. I will give the diesel a go and see what happens. Thanks.

Not really, that is what I am hoping to fix. There is not much if any fluid in there currently. Would diesel free it up?

PTO Generator inadequate for larger HP motors?

Update- Called a few well places, hard to get someone to return calls and/or talk to someone. Found one who was very helpful and is now in my phone. In short, something like an Easy Start has not proven well from their experiences and they do not recommend one. He also said I was measuring the...

PTO Generator inadequate for larger HP motors?

The PTO generators I a looking have have a THD of less than 5%, the IMD with AVR is <1%, this is from IMD when I spoke to them. It seems the ones under 15/16KW have lower THD than the larger ones, at least the ones I have looked at. Point is, I am good with that and the electronics should be...

PTO Generator inadequate for larger HP motors?

I posted a thread in Rural asking about a soft start on a well pump. In short, there was not a good solution that I was comfortable with, so I will leave it as is. I do have an Easy start for the AC, the two of these are the largest consumers. On the pump, inrush is 42Amps @ 240, which is...

PTO Generator inadequate for larger HP motors?

Thank you for the replies. I have not bought one yet, but I’m getting very close to pulling the trigger. I like the Baumalight, but the warning may be a dealbreaker. Here is what the response was from them, it could be a CYA statement or some deep electrical reason as mentioned above. ”The...

PTO Generator inadequate for larger HP motors?

I was looking at Baumalight's site at the TX12 specifically, and it had a warning in the manual to not use for over 2HP motors or the generator could be damaged. I emailed Baumalight and they confirmed, none of the TX series are rated for more than 2HP regardless of watts, and they recommend the...

Powering well pump with a generator

Thanks for the additional info. Based on the info posted, I don't think I will do the well pump easy start. The ROI is much longer with it, I was hoping for a few hundred dollar unit like the Micro-Air. @ponytug I have researched solar, would love to do that but my power company is not solar...

Powering well pump with a generator

Thanks Peter, good info. I have a 2500gal cistern too that has a transfer pump, it's 25A inrush. I am unsure how often my well pump runs, but it's somewhere between 1-2 time per week. I can manage the well pump load by turning off the breaker, but the transfer pump is critical since my pressure...

Powering well pump with a generator

Thanks for the replies. WRT the 4KW generator, how are you coming up to that? Unless I am doing math incorrectly, 240V * 42A = 10,000W, which is a 10KW generator to start the pump.

Powering well pump with a generator

I am looking for a whole house generator but want to get the sizing right. My well has a 3HP pump on 240. I measured the inrush amps on one leg with my clamp meter and it went to 42A. A couple of questions 1- Since each leg is 120, is that 42A on 240V or 21A on 240V? 2- Is there a way to...

Input needed on CaseIH Farmall DX55

Thanks for the replies. It sounds promising for sure! I was not aware that it was the same as a boomer. 3PH wont raise

Tractor is a L2600DT. Fluid is good but the 3PH won't raise. I have removed the tranny cover and inspected the control valve. When the valve is removed, I can blow compressed air into one of the ports and it does raise the lift arms while on the bench. But when I do this with the control valve...

Flail mower blades, does brand matter?

I need some blades for my Befco flail mower. I know there are a few different styles depending on the cut that you want. But does the brand or size matter? I mean, so long as the bolt can go in the hole, does anything else matter? These seem to be all over the place too in terms of price.

Flail Mower  Question on Befco H25 Flail mower

I have an older BEFCO H25 flail. The sprig that connects to the tensioner popped of, which caused the belt to jam. I now need a new belt. Coupe of questions- 1) Does anyone have a user/service manual for this? 2) Does someone know what size belt is needed? 3) Is there a pic that details how to...

Buying Advice  Need some Tires for my L2500, need recommendations where to buy them

Had a tire casualty this morning. Popped off the rim after I ran over a cedar stump. :( Once removed, I see that I have a pretty nice slash in it, too big to patch, so I am in need of some ag tires. Manual says 7x16, which appear harder to find than I thought. Any suggestions where to get 1 or 2...

Checked out a L2500 and it blew off the oil cap, high oil pressure?

I went to look at a low hours (187) L2500 Kubota today. While I was driving it around , I heard a loud pop. Turns out the oil cap blew off. The owner and I checked the breather tube and there were not any blockages. I then drove it for another 5 minutes. It did not blow off, but I did remove...

What is the HP of a Kubota B7100

Hi, I am seeing numerous B7100 (some HST) that say the HP is 20. But according to tractordata, it's 16. Is there a 20HP b7100 out there? Or are these sellers just misinformed?

Using a tractor as a Fork lift

I am not sure where this goes, so please move as necessary. Would a tractor make a good fork lift? Does a PTO have more lift capacity than putting some tongs on a FEL? I am actively looking for a tractor, but need a forklift too, something that can lift 1500-2500 pounds. Thanks.

What size tractor should I be looking at

I have been doing a lot of searching here, but decided I would post this and get some experts opinions. I purchased 5.5 acres recently. About 1-1.5 is grass that I need to mow regularly. About 2-2.5 acres acres wooded/tree'd and the rest is more field like. This has a semi-gradual grade to it...
