Problems with my 2638L

I have a 2638L HST. Purchased this tractor 2 years ago after trading in a 1538 HST, reason for upgrade 1538 could not lift 1000lb pallet of honey products into the back of my truck. ( But it could lift 650lb barrel of Honey from my truck bed!!) I was told the 2638 was the answer to all my problems, and it was, for about a year but now I would like to know why it wont lift 650lb. barrel of honey from the back of my pickup? I have had it to shop for repairs twice but it still can't do the job. They tell me there is nothing wrong but specs say 2638 will lift 1634lbs.

Following as my 2638 seems to be a little bit on the weak side as far as lifting goes as well.

I would assume you checked your hydraulic oil level. Do you experience any "jerkiness" in the loader or the transmission? They share the same reservoir. Does the FEL move slower than before?

You may have a clogged valve, or hose, or coupling. Maybe try to disconnect one hose of the lifting cylinder at a time and check it for flow. Then the next, then the next, and so on.

I also assume you've checked for any significant leaks on your hoses.

Look for the simple stuff first.

If you wanted more lift capacity you went the wrong direction, The 1538 had a loader lift capacity of 1650 lbs @ the pins and the 2638 is 1634 lbs @ the pins.
The next step up would be the 1640 with a 1850 lift capacity @ the pins ( but its only 200 lbs more)

Are you saying that, for a year, it was lifting the 1,000 lb pallets just fine, and now it can’t lift the 650 lb barrel?
