Re: Engine ideas
I got it all back together, I was a little overzealous when I cut the hood. Now for the shift arm.

Re: Engine ideas
Maybe you can find a battery holder and hood from an electric start Gravely? That's an electric start on your motor isn't it?
If you still have the piece you cut out, it could be mig welded back to the hood and repainted.

Re: Engine ideas
I'm trying to keep the current hood, I like it better than the tall hood for the electric starts. I've made a little battery holder for a 1/2 U battery. Not I just need to get the throttle and that arm done.

Re: Engine ideas
I agree. I like the hood you have better than the electric start hoods.

Re: Engine ideas
in your opinion does the 9hp robin have enough torque to replace a 10 hp kohler? if so what parts did you use to adapt the engine to the transmission and would these work on a commercial 10a? (the I.D. on my double gear measures 7/8'')

Re: Engine ideas
I get the Gear machined out to 1 inch and broach out to 1/4
for $50.00.
The 9 Hp Robin is strong running.
But not sure about being as strong as a 10 Hp Kohler.
Here is a link to 2 Re powers Last year.
Also make up a Gear spacer and a adapter spacer.kit
Gravely Mower gets a new Efficient Engine!
Here is a engine for $275.00 free shipping.
