Well I finally got the new connectors from WRLong and put them on. It was great, the grapple connected up wonderfully.
So, I've been playing around a little and started to move a pile of logs that were left over from the log cabin. I had the grapple pretty high up and suddenly I was in the midst of a hydraulic fluid downpour. So, I shut the engine off and lowered the grapple and went to see what hose had burst. It wasn't a hose, apparently I had really torged one of the new WRLong connectors when I attached...I remember the one, I really tightened that baby down . So I ended up having to go to Ace Hardware 3 times to get the right wrenches. I had all the wrenches I ever needed to do work on my bike, but now I'm getting some bigger ones. I got the fittings off and went to Ace and Paradise Hardware and Napa and Advance Auto and none of them had anything to fit. So I headed up the road about 40 miles to the tractor place. I didn't call, because if they weren't open I was gonna find something in Spartanburg that would do. Well, I guess tractor places don't open on Sat...at least that's the impression I get. So after a few more auto parts places I ended up at TSC (is that right? The tractor Supply Store). They sorta had something, not exactly. But at least I could reconnect. I need to get the right one so that one of the connectors can go through a hole in a brace and hold everything to the fel arm. So, I spent about 4 hours riding around with a thin coat of hydralic fluid coating my body. I think that stuff is probably good for you, I've got a rather healthy sheen going on now...especially on that bald head.
So, I got home and connected everything back...had a leak that I finally was able to get fixed. I could operate all of the hydralics, but that hose was sorta dangling and I wasn't gonna do much til I got the right fittings on Monday.
So I opened the grapple up a little and laid it down. It was at a good angle that I could back out of it and easily go forward to get back in it when I had things fixed. I was gonna put the bucket back on. So I just backed away and it came right off. But I forgot to disconnect the other hose. So I snatched it right off and lost more hyradlic fluid. Doggit man...I felt like cussin up a storm. So at least I had the right tools to get that one out and see what I needed.
So, I went inside and took a shower. I had decided that I was not gonna let this get me in an ornery mood...it ain't that big of a deal. So my wife wanted to take a walk through the woods, which we did. Me, the wife and daughter and 2 dogs...at least that part of the day was great. We have some beautiful land and we spent an hour or so back there just taking in the beauty. We came back past my wife's older sister's house and the old home place where my wife's grandmother lived after thier house burnt down. Her sister has really got that place looking great, she uses it as a little tea party house or whatever it is they do back there. She entertains there.
Great time we had, we were heading back up the driveway and I noticed the lights were on, on the tractor..CRAP...there, I cussed.
