I could have modified it for the back like you did. but already have the skid steer adapter plate and on the FEL. I don't have to look back with it on the FEL. Also on the FEL, I can raise the loader and tip it forward. This tips the blade forward relative to the skids and can get closer to the ground. My drive is crowned and gravel. The skids keep the blade about 1.5-2" off the ground but I can scrap the ground if I tip the plow forward. I also use a rear blade on the back.

With your plow on the back, does the blade push the tractor around when it is angled?

Only used it in 2 storms, one was 12+/-" so far better than I thought it would work, definitely no pushing the tractor sideways, I don't think that will be a problem, the big concerns were the fact that since 3pt implements are designed to pull rather than push that the 3pt may raise up when pushing but that has not happened in the least bit unless pushing into a bank then the blade starts to ride up pivoting on the pins just like when mounted on the front of a truck only if I keep pushing past that point will the lift arms start moving up.
Another worry was that a draft link or lift arm could get damaged/bent, not much I can do to prevent that except be careful, I think the i-match quick hitch may be helping, as the rigid construction probably distributes the forces equally to all three points? I've not been gentle and have hit some things harder than I wished to with no signs of damage yet.

This was just an experiment that I had no high expectations for but has so far been greater than I could of hoped for. When I'm down by the main road I can see the plow truck drivers doing a double take, just wonder what they're thinking.

OK, got the plow in the shop. It's a Meyer power angle ST90 (7.5') with 3 trip springs. I have the Q/A mounting plate on the way, just need to weld a set of mounting ears on it. The mounting plate will also have a 2" receiver tube welded to it. :)

What's the concensus on allowing the meyers fluid into the tractor hydraulic system? I don't know if any will ever actually make it back to the tractor since it mostly stays in the hydraulic rams, but I was kind of leery of letting the old Meyers blue junk get mixed into my tractor fluid. Maybe I should purge out as much of the Meyer junk as possible.

I would flush out the lines and cylinders before you connect it to your tractor.

Update:

Got a 5/16" quick attach mounting plate with a 2" receiver tube welded to it with powder coating for only $148 shipped to my door. Not bad! It's even made in USA. :)

I welded (4) 3/4" bar stock tabs, spaced for the plow and a hook on the top for a chain. So far so good. My plow project so far:

7.5' Meyer ST90 plow in great shape: $500
5/16" US made Q/A mount plate : $148
Misc welding & parts: $ 65

Now all I need is some snow.

Sounds great, get some pics.

Now with that receiver and your plow tabs you can easily make a boom pole out of 2"x2" stock, inserted into the receiver and "A" shaped bracing down to the plow tabs. could even utilize the hook an run a chain over the top of the pole so many feet out, for added support. You could probably make a 6, 8, maybe 10 foot pole with a set up like that.

You could come up with all kinds of mods for that plate now that you have 3 connection points.

Just an idea,
here's a picture of mine utilizing the receiver and bucket edge, yours would be better with the double "A" bracing and a dedicated plate.

As far as the plow cylinders, I did drain mine and was surprised how little was in there, doubt it could do any harm but easy to do so not worth risking it.

Good luck, JB.

Thanks. Yes, the boom pole is a great idea. There's a pole barn in my future, so a pole will be a necessity.

Nice rake! I've been looking for a good used landpride or woods 7 or 8' like that!

I'd love to give you a link, but for some bizzare reason, this website will not allow any links to Eb*y websites or listings.
All I can say is the sellers name is "ATVexpress". They were excellent to deal with, great price & fast delivery.
