I'm looking for a log splitter for my Kubota BX25. The hydro output is rated at 6.3 gpm (the pressure is spec'd at 1850 psi, I think). I've looked around at other threads on this subject and most the non-PTO pump splitters (with reasonable sized cylinders) will be slow at this flow rate but I've seen the regenerative Prince LSR-3060-3 Log Splitter Valve mentioned. It sounds like that allows the slow hydro to act more like a two-stage pump.
I'd prefer a vertical or horizontal/vertical splitter so that we don't have to lift the un-split rounds. Does anyone make a 3pt log splitter that comes equipped with something like this? Or if not, is it reasonable to start with something like the SpeeCo log slitter sold by TSC The SpeeCo SplitMaster 3-Point Hitch Log Splitter - 2153304 | Tractor Supply Company and just replace the valve, or is there more involved in the conversion?
Thanks
Jon
