Backhoe Liberty BH USA or China made?

Found out today the shipment of the chipper and backhoe won't be shipped till April 15th When they finally get here, I will take some pics and post them.

My first order was supposed to be here on the 12th of this month (May). That got delayed until April 12th - 19th. If I don't get it this time I'll be canceling the order. I've been waiting since early Feb. and a good deal stops being so great if you don't actually get the product.

I called Liberty Monday 4/16 to find out ETA of chipper and backhoe and was e-mailed saying the hoe was shipped and they would give me tracking info within 24hrs. No info came. E-mailed again on Wed. 4/18 and got a reply today 4/19 that the back hoe will ship either the 24th or 25th. The chipper/shredder is to ship 5/11-15. They extended the warranty to 4 years for the delay. I think if the hoe doesn't arrive this time when they say, I will cancel the order. I am with SOCKPUPPET on this. A good deal is not such a good deal if you don't get the product. I am just not real happy about paying for everything up front and after a month, still find the items have not shipped. Spring is here and I need to clear a 1/4 acre of woods to make room for my barn. Hard to do and stay on a build schedule when I can't get the equipment i need. Anyway, we will see in a week what happens.

Well, it's become an ongoing saga for me. They've lied on more than one occasion so far about the shipping by saying it shipped when it actually hadn't. They also told me it was halfway here a week and a half ago but they had shipped the 5' by mistake instead of the 6' they promised me. That turned out to be another lie to get me to accept the 5' hoe. They hadn't shipped anything.

I'd say they are BS artists but the artist part would be wrong because they keep getting caught.

Since I'm out of time to keep waiting, I did accept the 5' hoe at a reduced price but I don't have it yet to comment on it. It is at the local terminal and will be delivered tomorrow.

Even if the hoe turns out to be OK, the people at Liberty have made this a very frustrating experience. I would never buy from them again no matter what the deal.

I've been watching this thread. And I've never posted anything here before. I have been going thru the same thing. I "bought" a 6' backhoe on 3/19 (thats the date they charged my credit card)and was told, at the time they were still in production and wouldn't be ready till 4/14. Then on 4/12 I called them and they said my backhoe remains on schedule for "delivery" between 4/16-4/20. Called them again on 4/16 (thinking I'd like to have a tracking number if this thing could be hear anyday) they said they are behind on sending out tracking numbers and they told me they would make sure my tracking number was sent in the next 24 hrs. Called 4/18 they told me my BH was shipped on 4/17 but could not give me a tracking number. Promised again to get it to me as soon as possible. Called today 4/20 at 2pm they promised I would have a tracking number in my inbox within an hour and a half it's now over 5 hours later. Next call will be to cancel my order. Thats no way to run a business.

Mine finally arrived today but I can say one thing for sure, if they don't have a tracking #, it hasn't shipped.

I can also answer the original question of this thread. The backhoes are made and assembled in China. They are not sent here to be assembled and tested before being sent to the customer as was represented to me and others by Liberty. They will say anything to make a sale.

How do I know this you might ask? Because the backhoe is in a steel framed crate that is welded together...I had to cut it apart with an angle grinder to get the hoe out. The crate is obviously of Chinese origin.

As for the hoe itself? I'll be posting my whole story in a new thread.

just got tracking number for my Hoe today. Just leaving Arizona according to UPS. Should be here in Ohio the 26th.

Finally got a reply this is what they sent me.

I apologize for a significant mistake I made earlier.* Your Liberty 6ft Backhoe did not arrive with this week's group of implements.* The Liberty 6ft. Backhoe will be available for shipment in mid to late May.* As a courtesy Liberty Backhoes will provide you with a $175 credit off your original order and a extension of your warranty to 4-years upon receipt of it.*

The shoestring sounds about right. They use our money to place an order and use that shipment to supply the orders of two months ago. My guess is that they've gotten themselves into a cash only situation with the Chinese manufacturer.

We keep them in operation with our interest free loans...

These guys operate under a few business names but the players are all the same.
