Help me pick a toothbar!

We have one on our Kubota B2320 and the difference in digging and other excavatory uses is night and day, and our Yankee Warehouse chainon forks fit right over it.

Hey PhysAssist, I am considering the same set up on my Terramite. Do you have any pics of the tooth bar and forks on at the same time? Will the forks fit anywhere, or only in the end cutouts on the Piranha bar. Do the forks put pressure on the tooth bar edge , or back onto the bucket edge?

On a side note, I am also a Phys Assist. Working in Pittsburgh.

Sorry I haven't been able to get back to you sooner, but a lot has kept me busy.....

I kept trying to get pictures up, but my desktop died, and now I am laid up with an infection.

I didwant to tell you that once I grooved the stake mount (for the anti-rollback 2by's) I figured out that I can mount the forks on any of the short teeth, so pretty much any width I want, and not just on the flat areas. In fact, because of the increased "meat" to grab on, it feels even sturdier.

Agaib, sorry, but they keep telling me that life is what happened while I was making other plans.

And I was glad to learn that my pallet forks fit over the tooth bar nicely.

The thaw is upon us! I might even start digging this weekend.

That was actually one of the questions I had, I was thinking of ordering a Toothbar and get it mounted before Spring and not that it is a HUGE deal breaker but I like tossing on my Pallet Forks quite often for trees and brush and was wondering if I was going to have to remove the Toothbar everytime..

I have those same Forks I believe, looks like I might have to remove the spacer bar between them, might be able to adjust it around the teeth, but we will see...

I hate removing the toothbar. It takes a hammer,prybar and log chain most of the time.
I like the toothbar. It looks like the one I bought from Bobcat. It is fantastic. It makes a loader so much more capable.

Isnt the spacer bar adjustable in location along the forks? I didn't order the spacer bar, but now kinda wish I had. I made a basic one out of treated wood and some metal straps, but it only lasted for a few uses. But I had my wood spacer bar snugged up tight against the middle toothbar teeth, made everything nice and snug.

Still two big thumbs up for each of these products!

I am curios where you got that and what happened to the ratchet rake you show in this pic?

I'm not completely sure what you're talking about rich, but in case that was directed at me:

I first bought the ratchet rake. I thought it was great. But then I realized how silly it was to block your bucket with straps and ratchets that just get destroyed by brush and debris. I also realized how annoying it was that I couldn't dig into the ground at all.

Final tipping point was that I simply wanted better digging capability, which the toothbar delivers in spades. Once the toothbar was on the bucket, it quickly became apparent that it was nearly as effective as the ratchet rake for brush removal, but could also dig up root balls, scoop dirt, not block the bucket, etc. So now the ratchet rake collects dust. I guess if I wanted to spend all day driving in reverse to smoothly level an area... it might go back on. That's about it though.

Hey Deezler, Yeah that's exactly what I was trying to ask, sorry if I was confusing.
Since your original post was asking which tooth bar to get, I didn't see where you talked about having the RR and you were looking for something else.
Did you get the RR direct from fact or another retailer. I guess all these questions stem from my interests in getting either the RR or a tooth bar. I some land I need to clear and so....
I have been trying to locate a RR from Tractor Suply but none of them in my area like 6 different store and they all seem to act liek they never heard of it, don't carry it, I ever called up to order one, but they never called to tell me it was in..
Tractor supply pretty bad.
So I think I hear you saying you feel the tooth bar is a better option for root, land clearing type work over the RR?
Maybe Just get a landscape rake and the tooth bar?

I don't want to bash on the ratchet rake, because I think it does a mighty fine job at what it's intended to do. Just has specific limitations that can't be addressed. I got my 72" model (even though I have a 60" bucket) from tractor supply when they were clearing them out, so it was $100 off.

It depends what your goals are. If you need a smooth-groomed surface when you're done clearing the land, the ratchet rake can do that for you while a toothbar, not so much. I don't have a landscape rake (on the list, though), but I hear they can jam up with branches and debris where a ratchet rake is not gonna do that.

I bought the tooth bar just for better digging effectiveness with my loader bucket, which it delivered. Now it's way too much work to ever pull it off just to put the ratchet rake back on.
