I didn't buy the stabiliser bar, based on advice from another user of Pat's system, and threads that said you could make one much cheaper. I made one out of PVC pipe and it broke after my first hook up. I made another one and now only use it to hook up, then take it off. As I had to buy the PVC, I spent as much making two jerry rigged stabilizers as the Pat's bar would have cost. As I live in NZ, ordering a bar separately made it uneconomical to correct my mistake, as the shipping cost is 4x the cost of the stabilizer bar. In hindsight, I should have ordered the bar, when it would have been shipped with the PEC system. My tractor arms swing independently (I have a Lamborghini 50HP tractor), so I need a stabiliser bar to hold the arms at the correct distance apart to hook up my implements. I suspect the writers who say they don't need it, don't have the same issue with their tractor arms. Hope this helps.
