Tiller Kioti tiller

I'm going to look this week at a new Kioti tiller 47". This might be a good match for the JD X585 but will have to check if the 3pt will lift it high enough. The price is around $1100.00 What ya think?
John Deere sells the 450 and 647 tiller which are 48" wide for the X series.

It sounds high to me. I found that Maschio (sp?) made the JD tiller I was looking to buy, so I did a cross reference and bought the same tiller just under the Maschio brand. It was even the right green color. Anyway, I bought a 72" Maschio (JD) tiller new for $1500. The $1100 sounds awfully high for the much smaller model. By the way, I've used my tiller almost 100 hours worth now and it has been great. It is well built and I'm pleased with it. I would do the same thing again if given the choice. Good luck.

I've got the Kioti 55" tiller that I paid 1000.00 for.
Works great, I have not had any issues with it.

Are the Kioti tillers made by First Choice?

There are several advertisers of TBN and members who post frequently who sell FC equipment. $1100 seems high for a 48" unit given that one of our advertisers sells a 55" for $1075 on his website. Ken Sweet also sells First Choice and both advertises and participates on TBN, you might want to check his pricing; I know he includes slip clutches when he sells tillers, not sure if other sellers do, but they are worth getting on tillers. For reference, I paid $1050 for a Land Pride RTA 1550 (50" tiller with shift-offset feature) including a slip clutch this summer. I guess I agree with Dargo, you can probably do somewhat better on that price.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I wrong, but I thought that First Choice doesn't make anything. They are just a wholesaler/distributor.

$1,100 for the 47" Kioti tiller? My dealer quoted me $1,400!!! He also told me that the Kioti tillers were Italian made but didn't name the company, any one know if this is true?

The JD tillers are expensive at around $1700.00-$1800.00 so I have been investagating other brands. It seems like most of the non name brands are in the 1000-1300 range. Shipping adds another 100-200 dollars but then so does TN sales tax /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I looked at an Italtian made one called Industrial (innovated name- huh) for 1125.00 but weighed 480 lbs which is probably pushing the envolope for a 1000lb tractor.

In an previous thread on tillers, I believe it was CCI, posted the country of origin for a huge list of tillers. Most all of them were made in Italy. As I recall, some others were made in India and Turkey, but the majority of them were from Italy. According to my JD dealer, JD cannot manufacture a tiller with the same quality for what they can buy them from overseas. I'm sure there are some junk tillers out there, but most every one I've seen has been heavily built and well built. I'm well pleased with my Italian made tiller. I wonder if any actually made in the U.S.? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Inspector, I think you are techincally correct. If I understand it correctly First Choice is tha brand name (consider it more of a marketing company) and they work with foreign subcontractors, then they import it into this country. For some reason, I think the FC tillers are manufacturered by a subcontractor by the name of Simca?
