Here is something I made a long time ago to hold onto a small screw in tight places to poke it through a hole.
That's interesting. Kind if like an extension of human fingers. Pretty neet.

A handy tool, and no welder or power tools needed to make it.
Find a wire soap dish. This took the longest. No stores had them new. Success was at Goodwill.

Turn the dish over so the feet stick up, like a dead cow in the comics.

When we worked on aircraft our trick was to wrap tape on a finger tip sticky side out and stick the machine screw or nut on the tape.
Worked just fine.
