Essential tractor features

It totally depends on what you are going to use the tractor to do.

I have not had a FEL since 1979 when I used it to muck out wintering sheds on 163 acres in England. I have not used rear remotes since 1990 when they were needed to put an 18 disc plough into transport mode on a big arable acreage in Australia. Following that in Scotland I needed a cab.

Essentials to me now, supposedly semi-retired on 16 acres with mainly olive trees and some hay ground, are limited to 4wd; diff lock; pto (with live drive); tph; suspension seat and work lights. Headlights are good enough but a decent rear light is needed. I do a lot of spraying, both boom and hand lance, so a cab would be a nuisance. I never work out in wet weather anyway, and it does not become cold enough to need one.

I would like a backhoe (when I would need the hydraulics of course) but do not have enough use to justify buying one.
