I keep fingernail polish in my toolbox also. I just get one of my wife's mistakes when she gets the wrong color. It is usefull for marking things, as well as an effective "locktite" replacement on screws. It does work for that! It can also be used a a protective coating on small parts to prevent rust and corrosion.

Bontai Joe, my earlier silly post was a misguided attempt at humor. I know there are many handy uses for nail polish. I have used nail polish to seal the top of adjusting screws after setting the trigger pull on hunting rifles.

What color finger nail polish do you have? Just kidding.

I use it to mark a tooth on my chain saw so I can keep up with my starting point when sharpening the chain. It stays on there the whole season. You guys just make sure you tell your wives its in the tool box and what its for before she finds it herself!
