    Default Foton 254

I've been trying to find out, without any luck, the weight of the Foton 254 with and without 4 in 1 loader. I need to know if I can carry it on my car trailer. Also would like to know the weight of the bucket as I carry that on the ute if neccessary.
    Thanks, Geoff

Working weight w/o loader should be under 1200 kilos. I think my 1.550 meter 4-in-1 weighs in the neighborhood of 450 kilos. So lets say 400 kilos if you go with the smaller bucket. Depending upon which tires you select, you might need to consider ballast weight as well.

Do you know the approx weight of the bucket/scoop by itself?
    Thanks, Geoff

I can only speak for my 5 footer:
    MODEL Frontier AY11H-60
    Dimensions
    Width, in. (cm) 61.88 (157.2)
    Height, in. (cm) 26.94 (68.4)
    Depth, in. (cm) 28.01 (71.1)
Cutting width, in. (cm) 60. (152.4)
Clam opening, in. (cm) 28.45 (72.3)
    Weight
    Operational, lb (kg) 360 (163.3)
    Shipping, lb (kg) 385 (174.6)
    Hydraulic cylinders
    Type 2 - Double acting
    Clamp force
    Open, ft-lb (N) 3605 (16035.8)
    Closed, ft-lb (N) 2378 (10577.9)

But this is on a 43hp John Deere. I'm thinking you might want to go smaller for a 254. A four footer for example, will likely run closer to 250 pounds; bucket only. Frame/arms/hydraulics/mounting hardware add up too.

When you say "Ute", are you refering to a toyota sized 4 or 6 cylinder pickup/utility vehicle? From my few trips to Aus, that or a car turned pickup, reminiscent of the El-Camino here in the US(only smaller) was what I recall was passing as a "Ute" I have Toyota size trucks, and I don't think I would tow a trailer with my 254 on it with one of my trucks. My 254(jinma) weighs close to 2800 pounds without FEL, with FEL and subframe, it is closer to 3700 I think. With a trailer suitable to haul that much weight, the package approaches 5000 pounds. Better than 1 1/2 times my truck weight. I just don't have the brakes for that much weight... I have trailered my tractor, but I did it with a full sized V8 powered truck with a very heavy dual axle trailer, and I definitely knew it was back there...

Then your trailer has a 7,000 lb. GVW capacity. Assuming the trailer weighs around 1,500 lbs. that leaves you with a maximum 5,500 lb. payload.

hi gef, not sure if i can help or not, i have the 250 foton 2wd and slasher, from memory it comes in around 1350 kg, i didn't go the 4wd because i would of been overweight for the trailer, gross is 2t, claimed weight for 2 trailers i have had was 500kg when i weighed them both came in at 600kg, i would recommend the electric brakes not the override, i sold the trailers and bought a small truck havent looked back, much better
    cheers stuart

That's an acceptable trailer for the job, but depending on which F150 you have, that might be getting close to the towed weight limit on some models of the 150(7800 LB for trailer all-up/gross weight) I used a larger truck last time I moved mine

Must be embarrassing for F150 owners to watch my Porsche towing 7700 pounds.
