our is a F-150 Lariat 2004 Supercrew (5.4L), piece of cake to tow the tractor even without the electric brake (tried one time but prefer to have the full control), I did tow charge higher than 10 000# with it

i wish i had the money to buy your Cayenne Greg but its not the case hehe
if you compare the old V6 of the f-150... you just cant compare ?

i guess an Ecoboost run somewhere between 1100 to 1300 ~ on the EGT since 11000+# is the rating from Ford... that mean he could tow more... (i see no reason to it being critical...)
you boost on the start and on acceleration... when climbing a hill too. and they probably sorted out the part throttle boosting when climbing long hill (impossible to boost for a long time without being critical so i guess the boost is computer regulated.)
im no Ecoboost specialist, but im Sold to Ford F truck and Mustang ;)

EDIT on EGT reading...: (lowered the EGT number since they were very high, i tend to post at night while being sleepy)
it always depend on the engine/brand and on the type of fuel used but Diesel can go 1200 without any trouble continous (turbo inlet #), some can go as high as 1500 for short period... (depend on the engine and brand), let say no more than 4-5 mins.
Ecoboost is a gasoline engine, it can go high but not as long as the Diesel can. that's why i said the computer probably shut the boost to 0 when boosting for too long (climbing a hill for long moment).

I drive a '08 F350 dually crew cab w/ 6.4L & compound turbos. I understand the Ecoboost is only on the F-150, so I know nothing about it. I know if I let my EMD engine's EGT's get into the teens for very long I'd be hurting.

As the Foton 254 has such a good reputation and price I've decided to upgrade the AGM of both the trailer and ute. The trailer can definitely be done for about $1000, need to do more research on the GU 4.2 Patrol ute.
Thanks for the help and interest, Geoff
