I've been reading that the tiny casters were the weak link for this model, good to know for next time. I paid $2,400 USD for it. It belonged to a small college and it was a winter project for their shop class to get it all fixed up. It still needs a new seal or 2 and a hose, but otherwise it's in great shape.I had a similar Alamo mower, maybe a bit larger at 16 feet. I towed it home behind my Dodge Dakota 6cyl truck about 70 miles.
When I tried to sell it, it was not that easy. I thought since they were fairly scarce I could make a buck. As it was, I had used it for ten years and basically got my money back. Listed at 6K CDN, went down to 4500 and sold it for 4K CDN.
If I had to do it again, I would get one with bigger castor wheels, which don't disappear down a ground hog hole.
Great picture! That should be on the cover of home and tractor magazine! Here it is all hooked up to my rig. I really should have just hauled it with the isuzu. It desperatley needs all of its fluids changed though.View attachment 549818
