I made the mistake of stopping by my local (Central New York) Kubota dealer where the new B2920 caught my eye. I could use a few more HP and loader capacity. With the exception of some dents in the bucket (LA302), my 3 yr old B7510 has 170 hrs, is well maintained, has never spent a night outdoors and is immaculate.

The dealer has the B2920 listed at$13,759. Add in the LA364FEL listed at $3,055 for a total of $16,714. So he just called and offered me only 8k for my 7510 for a cash difference of 9k. So basically he took nothing off the list price of the B2920.

Am I wrong to believe that the whole offer was an insult? I paid $12,800 for my B7150 w/FEL. Questions - what is a fair price for a B7510 w/LA302 FEL with 170hrs? What is the going rate for a new B2930 w/LA364FEL?

thanks!
Jack

Last month I traded in a 2005 B7510HST with LA302 FEL and 170 hours on the clock for a Mahindra 5525. I paid $12,600 for the Bota.

The average trade-in value for the 7510HST is about $6200. The FEL is worth about $2900 new. I thought $1500 for the FEL was reasonable so the deal went with $7700 trade-in on the Bota. You might do better selling it yourself. I was not inclined to go that route.

jackl, i was given a price on a 2920 w/loader here in NH, of 15,800. Looks like your dealer is at the very least, high on the price of the 2920. The brand new 7610s are blow-out priced right now, and with 0% 42 month financing, it makes your trade a tough sell for the dealer. If it were me, i'd advertise your tractor @ 10 or even 10,500..... let someone beat you up a little and sell it yourself. Then go back to your dealer with an offer of 15,500 on the new tractor with no trade.

3 years ago i traded my B7500 hsd, 302 fel with heated curtis cab, 700 hrs, in very good condition, in as downpayment on a new B3030 hsdc with 403 fel. The dealer gave me $8000. in trade, not a week later my machine had a price tag of $10,000 on it. I just sold my B3030,403 fel & 2782 snowblower to a member here, in fact im delivering it tomorrow. I gave him a very good deal on a low hour machine as i wanted to jump up to an L. The trade in offer from the dealer on my 3030 was downright insulting. I will never trade in a machine again!

I don't think anyone would have a hard time selling a B7510 and loader for 10,000. I would not hesitate to put $9000 into one... and give a good cash selling price on a new machine at the same time.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I knew I should have just driven by the dealer in the first place! Now I've thinking about it for the last 8 hours and may try to sell it myself. I think I might also take the 2920 out for a test drive this week at a different dealer.

I never really considered a Mahindra. How do you like it? I see they have a 3 year warranty and the 2815 looks comaprable to the B2920 in terms of HP. It's quite a bit heavier and has position control.

The Mahindra 2815 is more compareable to the L2800. Look at the Mahindra 2415 as a comparison to the 2920. FYI, the Mahindra 2815 is being discontined. Around here, the B2920 with loader and MMM sells for $16,500-$16,800.

I assume these prices are before tax. If so, they are high. I read elsewhere that the B2920 lists for $13,353, and the LA364FEL for $2820. I'm pretty sure I paid MSRP, or very close to it, for my B2620 (not much choice around here), and the total was $15,400 (pre-tax). Add $800 to $1000 to move up to B2920, and that still keeps you a few $100 less than what you are being quoted. If you are paying more than what it costs around here, than you are definitely not getting a good deal.

I just saw a B7510HST Craig's List with 50 hours and 60" MMM for $12,500. It's in a part of the country with 8%+ sales tax, and where dealers give little if any discount off of MSRP. I'm guessing this probably tends to keep used equipment 10% or more higher than elsewhere in the country. Given this, I'd say that asking $10,500 is reasonable.

I was offered 8k for my 05 7510 302 fel w 60" mmm. 265 hrs. Not enough on a trade for a 7800/403/60"mmm. 17,700 for the 7800 though.
