Just traded my JD 4310 in on a Kubota BX24. Sometimes you can have too much tractor. I think the BX24 will fit my needs better. I got the BX24 with turf tires filled with rim guard, the 54" fine cut MMM, block heater, quick hitch and front mount snowblower.

My question is about the Kubota 2750C front mount snowblower. On Kubota's website they list electric shoot rotation as an option. I asked my dealer if Kubota has a hydraulic option and he said no. I would rather have hydraulic rotation because there would be two free couplers from the FEL because the quick hitch only uses two.

Now, I am taking delivery this week and just to make sure I walked another dealers lot last evening and he had a 2750C with hydraulic rotation. I called my dealer and he said there is no 2750 with hydraulic rotation. Do you think that this is something that the other dealer rigged on his own? Or is the hydraulic rotation really available from Kubota, or maybe the hydraulic rotator is off another model snowblower from kubota?

I did do a search on this and did not find anything. I hope the Kubota experts can help a recent JD convert.

You need to have the BX2750C front blower with the BX2754 hydraulic chute rotator option. MSRP is $650 or so. If I can read the option list so can your dealer. If he can't read the standard option list how will he respond to any problems you may have? Something to think about.

Thanks for the model number. $650 is alot of money for that option. Just curious, where did you find that model number? I looked all over the website, in the literature, and I saw the order book the dealer was reading from. The only option listed was the electric chute rotation.

The dealer is Sharon Springs garage. They have 3 locations and the one near me in Oneonta does not sell Kubotas from that store. They are not allowed to due to another dealer being too close. I am comfortable buying from Sharon Springs garage and the service they will provide after the sale. The saleman however, does not usally sell Kubota but that is ok with me. He is a great guy and I prefer to work with him at the closer store rather that travel to Sharon Springs. I talked to him first and I feel he is due the sale. They will service and deliver my tractor out of the Oneonta store and send the tractor to Sharon Springs for any major work or repair.

I've used the 2750 for the past 5 years on both a BX2200 and (my current) BX23. Unless you have a cab, I'm not sure what the powered rotator is good for as the manual rotator works quite well, IMO.

Having said that, I'm looking to get powered chute rotation because I'm probably going to end-up with a Curtis Cab on my '23. I've seen folks suggest here in TBN that a homemade (electric) chute rotator can be made using parts available on eBay (actuators). Actually if you're going to "roll your own", you might want an actuator for the chute output deflector as well.

ETA: The backhoe works great as ballast. Never have used tire chains on the '23 while I definitely needed them on the BX2200.

Spudgunner,

I can't rotate the manual arm because it puts to much strain on my elbow. Doctors say I need an elbow replacement but they don't do elbow replacements yet. It's not that my elbow is completely useless, it's just certain motions (like rotation) cause alot of pain. I have a circular driveway and a large parking area where I have to change the direction of the chute not just every pass but continuously as I round the circular part of the driveway.

Also, there is not a Curtis Cab listed for the BX with the backhoe. I imagine it would be in the way. I would love to get one for the winter though. Do the cabs remove easy? Do you have to drill holes to mount them? I guess I just thought they did not come off once they were on.

With regard to your elbow, that's an excellent point; hadn't thought of that. The Curtis Cab for the BX2200 is apparently useable with some slight mods on a BX23...at least the softsided variety. If you use the search function with "Curtis Cabs" or just "cabs" you'll find a fair amount of info. This year I'm going to be moving snow on about a mile+ of country road for our homeowner's association so both the chute rotator and cab are sounding pretty good. With regard to cab removal...I honestly don't know how fast one comes off the tractor.

I would recommend getting extra shear bolts. On the 2750 there are two sizes.

I've found this snowthrower to work great. Enjoy.

Check this out. It's a soft sided Curtis on a BX 2200 using a Woods BH600 back hoe. Just remove the rear canvas for the summer. The cab sure is nice in the winter during a snow / sleet storm! Don't forget to get the optional heater and windshield wiper!:D

Spud,

Here is a link to a cab I made for my BX2200, worked well for $125, I upgraded to a Sims cab, but this was not bad for the $$.

I have also used an electric window motor to turn the chute, about a $25 investment in parts, works great!

Here is a link on how it was done, 2nd page

Here is a link for an electric acuator to move the chute up an down. I picked up the acuator off e-bay. Make sure you get one with automatic stop at full length or you will burn the unit out. Cost was $75 and drilled 2 holes and a switch, works fine.
