Hey guys

I am the proud new owner of a '07 BX2350 with front blower. Now I am looking into a hard cab. Looked at all of them online and find the Jodale_Perry and Laurin the be the closest to factory looking around.

My question is does anyone have a Laurin cab since the model change and if so, can you chime in? Thanks!

I did look for Laurin Cab last fall. There cabs are well made but quite expensive, but you have what you pay for. The Eclipse model matches very well a bx2350. For a base model, you will pay $5250 CAD and $6500 CAD for full equip one.
For my set-up, I took a soft Curtis cab and I modify it. I did want to able to remove it during summer. With a Laurin or Jodale Perry forget it to put on and off easily.

Thanks Skippy. I had no idea it was 6 grand without install. That is a bit dear if I only use it for snowblowing!! I think that blows my budget for sure.

Thanks!

P.S. I was kinda hoping Kubota would offer their own aftermarket cab as they have in the past! :)

Kubota offers a Jodale Perry cab as OEM here in Canada.

Would that be more expensive than the Laurin? I think I actually like the Jodale/Kubota one the best but am scared to price it.

Thanks for the quick response.

Anyone have some good kubota/Jodale cab pics out there? For some reason I cannot find a link off the kubota website.

Thanks

Hmmm, Looking at those first 2 photos, seems like it wouldn't be possible to operate the bh with that hard cab on. I presume there is no rear panel that just opens up? Taking that hard cab on and off for winter and summer work seems like it would be quite a task and require a sizeable hoist suspended from a substantial beam at a considerable height.

Went I had looked in June for a cab, the OEM (Jodale) was $6500 CAD not installs and a Laurin was $5700. Install such cab involve few modifications to the BX.
Actually, those cabs are permanent mount like the B3030HSTC, but worth it especially during snowstorms. By the way, none of them comes with ac at those prises.
If you want to have a set-up on/off, maybe you should go with a soft cab like Curtis or Simms. Those two are quite simpler to take on and off.
One thing to remember with cabs like Laurin you change the center of gravity very much, and yes you may operate the BH by opening the rear section of the cab.
Here are some pics of my set-up for under $3500CAD and few hours. It is removable in 3 hours works great.

Nice setup Skippy!

So when you say removeable, you mean the soft doors and you leave the rest on right? The reason I liked the Jodale was that there was a member on here with a rear steering front mount mower/blower who had one that just came on and off in one piece. Thought it would be kinda nice.

Did you get the heater for yours?

I unscrew 6 bolts, disconnect 3 electrical connections, unplug 2 hoses and raise the entire unit off the tractor. It takes me 2 hours to remove it. Next spring I will do a dolly to moves it around the shop.
I install an cab heater that purchase from Simms.

The overhead hoist makes it a 1 person job and is a lot safer then trying to lift it with a few guys or worse yet by yourself or with your wife ( do not ask how I know this:D ). Also the jig is very helpful.

O.K. So in post #2 of this thread, the first 2 photos are of a BX24 with a hard cab. If that cab is not removable, how do you operate the backhoe? The single swivel seat is inside the cab. The bh controls are outside the cab with no space for the operator to even stand, much less sit. I still cannot visualize how one would operate the bh???????

The B3030 has one seat for the tractor and the bh has its own seat outside. I just don't get this BX24 with hard cab and bh????? The only possibility I can see is that the top is hard, the glass is hard, but maybe the skirts at the bottom are semiflexible with the 4 sides being removable and the top staying in place????????

It is removable but takes a lot of time to do so. It is not design like the soft cabs, removable quit rapidly. The sales clerk at Laurin told me that there a back glass that open and hold by two cylinders. There is also a panel at the bottom that is removable so you can turn the seat around and does the BH stuff.

Here is there web site and a good view of their cab;

Thanks for the explanation Skippy. That seems like a lot of work to me, especially not having an ac. Too bad that to get a TLB cab with ac and the bh controls inside the tractor where the ac is, you have to go all the way up to something like a Case that costs multiple $100k.

Thanks to all who replied! Looks like after this discussion and comparing pics, I am most likely going to go with the SIMS cab or the Curtis soft sided one. I find it strange that the SIMS one is black rather than matching Kubota orange...

Who thought this would be such a hard decision...:D :D

I know that Laurin offers AC in all their cabs. But if you thing about ac and you want to remove the cab there are more money involve to unplug the compressor.

Yeah, if I had any money left of my tree in the backyard I would go with the Laurin but I think I will be going for a cheaper make because I am only using the cab 3-4 months max out of the year.

Now back to the money tree...Anyone know if Miracle Grow works on them?

I had a curtis soft cab on my B7500, it was a great value for the money and the heat was very strong. I think i paid $2500. that included heater, front work lights and installation. The lauren cabs are beautiful, but for that kind of money, you can get the factory cab.
