Could someone tell me how hard it is to make adjustments to the the quarter inching valve on a B2320. I hooked my box scraper up and realized that the 3pt hitch doesn't move up/down in the slow positions. I have to move it to the fast positions to even get it to move which makes it nearly imposible to make slight adjustments. Also, I thought the the lever should return to center position after going all the way up/down (fast positions), but it does not. I might have been wrong about this. I was planning on doing my 50 hour service myself and didn't want to take it back to the dealer but if it is to difficult I may so that they can fix the 3 pt hitch issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have to move the lever stops slightly. Just loosen the bolt on the stop (the up and the down stop are independent of each other), and with a little wiggling it'll move. You just need to give yourself a little more lever travel in the quarter inching range.

As far as the lever returning to center, it might on the way up (depending on load/rpm), but it won't on the way down. Lowering the 3-point just dumps pressure (not a power-down) and the full-down lever position "floats" the 3-point without any hydraulic pressure, up or down.

There's no spring for the down return, only the up return. Not sure why. If you look at where the spring is for the up return, it appears there is no reason why one could not have been added for the down return also.

I think Smokin Diesel probably also has the right answer with the stops. If you move the 3PH lever to either inner stop, it should slowly move up or down. If it is not, then they are not adjusted properly (note that if nothing is attached to the 3PH, you will see almost no down movement, even wih the out stop).

I'd also add that if the dealer delivered the tractor to you with the stops not adjusted properly, then he did not do a good job with the pre-delivery inspection.

Thanks for your help you guys. Sounds like a pretty simple adjustment. I agree that the dealer should have had it right from the beginning. So far, I haven't been overly impressed with my dealer. Fact is, I bought it with the agreement that they would do a free 50 hour service, but I don't even trust them enough to do that because of some other issues that were not tended to originally (low antifreeze, etc.) and would rather do it myself. I enjoy doing it and it is always nice to get to know your equipment better.

I plan to look at the mechanism in a week and see if I can adjust. I will let you know what I learn. Most tractors sold by my dealer have position control and so they just don't fiddle with the factory settings.

Great thread Mike058...just bought a B7800 and couldn't figure it out! Thanks!

Any resolution yet?
I seem to have the same problem on a B7800. I've moved the stops back, but by the point the arms move, the lever is basically in the far position (arm moves all the way up or down).

The dealer says they've never seen a problem like this. I'm waiting for the dealer to visit and check it out.
