Thought I'd share an idea that has worked well for me. The most time-consuming step when I changed implements was loosening and retightening the turnbuckles on the 3 point hitch. Replacing the pin in the clevis at the end of the turnbuckle with a snap ring allowed me to quicklly pop them out and spread the arms to attach a different implement. Some fine adjustment of the turnbuckle is still required, but much less than the tedious fully opening and closing. There are linch pins/snap rings designed to work with tubes that have a semi-circular ring that will close around the clevis. I think they were 3/8" but not sure. I got two for less than $2. A little WD40 helps keep the pin moving freely. Hope this is helpful to someone else.

Just use Pat's Easy Change. Even easier than what you suggest but it will run about $200 retail. It is for sale on TractorByNet.

But any hint on how to make things easier around here is appreciated. Thanks and post anything else you may devise.

I have Pat's and it's a great Quick attach. What fullbucket shows that he uses has nothing to do with quick attach hook ups like Pat's. His suggestion is concerning adjusting the turnbuckles easier. Great contribution fullbucket.

Agree that anything that can help make the job easier and more efficient is great to have shared.

A close reading of the OP states that the modification is for attaching different implement. Thus the comment about Pat's. However, less than $2 is much more economical than $200, if that is a concern.

His turnbuckle comment was that it requires a slight adjustment since apparently he wants the lower arms tight without any swing. I like a bit of looseness in case something solid is unintentionally struck with the attachment.

My tractor doesn't have the chains, as it uses blocks on the side of the pto housing to prevent sway. That allows me to move both arms "out", but if attached to an implement, the pair prevent it from swaying. Even easier than a snap ring on a clevis1

Why didn't I think of replacing those darn pins myself? I too would remove the pin, but I stuck with the factory clevis and spring cotter pin. Therefore, I just had an extra part to drop while holding them in my mitt. I actually lost a spring cotter pin or two in the process.

I did get the Pat's system, so those days are behind me. Still like the idea though.

Looks like a great Idea. I'm getting some for my BX as soon as I get to town. I have another problem with the ball sockets on the 3pt. they are real tight. I have tryed working them using a jack handle and penetrant but it has not helped much. Makes hooking up a really hard. Has anyone found a better way to loosen these up?

I did the same thing on my B7100. Worked great! The turnbuckles on my B7610 don't have a pin, so I bought the B2710/B2910 style telescoping stabilizers (still haven't had a chance to install them -- maybe this weekend).

My BX was the same way. Try some valve grinding compound if you can't wait for the balls to loosen up. The jack handle or a crowbar rotating them around for a while should do the job. Leave it on for a while while using an attachment and then clean it off with water and apply WD40 or similar. Also, the WD40 will pick up dust and dirt and continue to polish the balls.
