All,
I've been researching these forums and the web on how difficult it is to rpelace the HST fan on a BX 2200. I have found conflicting info and only found one description specifically for the BX 2200. I'm a learn on the job newbie mechanic, so I like to know what I'm getting myself into first.
I found the description below. Is this a good/valid method? Does the shop manual help (I don't have it yet)? Any good tips?

I just replaced mine on my BX22 without removing the driveshaft, here's how.
Remove the guard plate that is under the fan. Remove the two bolts on the rear of the driveshaft by the fan. (You can use a wrench on the one of the bolts on the front of the driveshaft to keep the shaft from turning while you are taking the bolts off the rear of the driveshaft). I took off the forward/reverse pedal linkage at the rear connection which can be done using a long extension and socket just in front of the rear wheel. Then you can move the linkage toward the right side of the tractor which will give you just enough room to get the fan and adapter off. It's a good thing that fan is flexible because when you put it back on it is a tight fit and you have to bend the blades a little as you are trying to get the splined adapter and fan back on. Once you get the adapter back on, the rest is pretty easy but I did use air tools.LOL
