A solid Sub-compact Tractor
Model Year: 2002
I bought my BX22 new after destroying 5 used 18-22 hp "garden tractors" in 4 yrs. Since then I've build 3 3k-5k gal. fish ponds, dug 2 foundations for small addition (300sqft, 1100sqft) spread 100-200 tons of gravel, pushed too much snow to believe (1200-1500 ft of 18' road & 10 driveways each snow, 5-10 times a year.) I have the stock Front End loader, Backhoe, 54" mid-mount mower deck, 51" rear mount snow blower after market equipment 60" rear blade & a set of removable teeth for the FEL. So far this tractor has far exceeded all of my expectations. Maintenance has been simple & straightforward. I've had 3 hydraulic hoses that have developed pinholes & were easily replaced. The only gripe is the trans-axle fan is in a particularly bad location and unprotected from damage. Repair is a major hassle, for a $4.00 part labor was quoted out at $750 due to the scale of disassemble & reassembly required. This has been addressed in the later models but no recall or refit for the older BX's. I only wish I bought it sooner than spend the extra $$$ of used junk.
Pros: Simple Maintence, Multiple attachments, real PTO & 3 point hitch.
Cons: Dealers parts are $$$, Transaxle Fan is an achillies heel.
