From Vt, in Va, retiring to MS

Kubota's - B7610, M4700
Since I've been in the process of retiring and moving from Virginia to Mississippi I've gotten almost zero seat time.
BUT
Today I had to haul a 1963 freezer out of my basement, and around from the back of my house to the front. About 75 yards across soft, slightly muddy ground (it's been spitting rain today). So thoughts turned to seat time.

I've my 22 year old son helping.

We just set the freezer on the FEL and it was as heavy as the place that rhymes with FEL. [safety police warning - I don't care] After thinking of the various ways to affix it safely to the FEL I thought what the.. Well I just had my son carefully push against it as in the first picture, then he walked around with me driving the tractor. When we got to the loading part I wasn't sure if would fit. It did. With at least an inch to spare.

Since I live on a 1/4 acre lot about 15 miles south of the center of Washington DC in dense suburbia there are not a lot of tractors around. My neighbors were suitably impressed.

And I got some seat time :)

Sincere wishes that your moving job goes smoothly, and that hopefully you will arrive in your new home for the Holidays. A tractor with a FEL surely beats using a moving dolly on wet ground.:)

Moving to Fulton, near the Tenn-Tom.

Well I HAD about 280 acres (in 4 spread about parcels) with my name on it up to last month, but I added another 70 acres, and a house, so I'm up to about 350 acres (and envisioning a square mile) PLUS I have about 6,000 sq ft of shop/barn/shed as shown in this thread:

The tractor WON'T be wasting even when I get my M59.

Best wishes on your move and your retirement. I'll bet you are really looking forward to it! Fair warning: If you thought you'd have all kinds of spare time once you retire, think again! I don't know how I ever found time to hold down a job all those years.

Well that'll change, you could drive into Mississippi on a tractor with a freezer in your FEL, and folks would just wave and ask what kind of freezer it is.
