How much was it

I can tell you that the Kubota catalog lists the little plastic rivets for the floor at $1.25 each. Seems a bit steep, but I bought 4.

I want to eleborate;

I am not chastizing, belittling, nor scolding the original poster, just interjecting what I know. Frankly, I had not heard of floormats being
a item to hose a comsumer. What was it, 87 bucks? A 1/2 hour or time
to install including getting the item, throwing away the box, moving
the vehicle in and out, the labor to receive and ship the item, romoval of a dozen or so plastic push pins, clean floor, it all
adds up, time is money, and comissioned salesmen will try to take
as much of it as they can, whenever they can...

PS, the floor mat on a BX 25 is necessary, w/o it you have a slick painted metal floor...

How much was it, and how much was installation CTF?

I can't believe you got the floor mats. :confused2:

Other than the finance department, floor mats and body undercoat are the highest margin items at any dealer. They are all but pure profit. And they are all rip-offs. The mats are just crazy -- $87 for a piece of rubber and synthetic carpet fibers. Refuse this stuff, and save yourself some money. That's the tip for the day.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Wrooster

It was under warranty.

OK folks. I've been real busy recently, but I have good news:

The BX came back from the dealer on 12/02...a long 23 days later. Everything seems to be in working order (except a minor problem with the switch for the 4-ways)...Also had a new floor mat installed while at the dealer (old one was torn up)...All is well. :)

I'm glad you had a happy ending.

But my nightmare may just be beginning. Could of started my own thread.

Brought my 07 Dodge Ram 3500 in for a no charging problem and they figured I'd need an alternator. still covered by extended warranty.

OK, I asked them before I brought it in, do they have the part? No, but they will get it only after they are 100% sure it needs it.
Supposed to be a half day job, they called after the first day and said yes it definitely needs an alternator, only problem is there are none within a thousand miles of us! Florida and Texas are the closest

So now I'm waiting for one to be delivered from 1000 miles away!

I have been waiting for my GMC alternator to go out, from what I understand 80K is about the life time of a GM alternator, and I have 101,000 on my 06.

I have been thinking about just changing it proactively

What to do what to do.....

I have been running gm trucks in my business for over 30 years. I have found the lifespan of their alternators to be approximately 120,000 miles.

Why fix whats not broken.
You can pick up an alternator at most any auto parts store when/if you need it.

There have been other threads where some have said they have not changed an alternator in 30 years.

This truck only has 25,000 miles on it :confused2:

The last time I had a alternator go out, it was 20 years ago at 1 AM and right around 90 K, I had just left the bar with my ex and my sister, and the engine locked up.
I had it towed since I assumed the engine locked up and I was out in the middle of no where. It was actually the bearings in the alternator had locked.

I just dont like experiences like that

Well my saga got a wrinkle, my alternator came Saturday, they put it in yesterday. Then I got the call, "we got a little problem" The alternator is overcharging now. The ECU needs to be replaced ($1,700.) because the voltage regulation comes from the ECU :confused2:

The ECU was in Detroit on Monday but in my truck today as I type 4:30 pm Tuesday, should be ready right about now. Hopefully no more surprises.

This is covered by an extended service plan that only had 1 month left on, so at least I got my moneys worth, plus I have another year coverage now on the computer and alternator since they are new.

If I had to pay out of pocket for this I would be pretty upset to say the least, might even change my high regard of the Cummins/Dodge truck.

Glad it's all worked out.

Not quite, Even as I was typing "hope there is no more surprises" I had a feeling it wasn't going to end that easy.

Called them just after that last post and they said it's not ready. their on the phone with Chrysler techies because the new computer is not monitoring all systems as it should and is throwing codes

So now it's tomorrow morning, crossing fingers. This is the longest I've been without my work truck in 30 years. Not that busy, but I do have work to do.

I have '91 Ford Explorer with 235,000 miles and it's still got the original alternator.
I had it checked when the orig. starter bombed at 195,000 miles. I hope all of
today's alternators aren't built for 100K lifespan.

Yes I read where you said GMC but alternators in general are just that alternators. I know there's different brands but they're basically the same concept. I'm merely saying an alternator should last more than 80-100K miles. We just had the alternator rebuilt on the 686 after 5000 hrs. Just making a comparison, don't get all bent out of shape i see your rolling eyes too.
