Have a new BX2360 with MMM, FEL and rototiller. I have 6 acres, mostly grass and intend to have a 1/4-1/2 acre garden. I'll also be doing lots of landscaping and building a garage. My problem is that I can't get the dial on the MMM to turn all the way to the "TOP" indicator. I see this as important for next spring hen I'll be tilling up the garden. Is there some trick not well documented in the manual, or should I address the problem with my dealer. I really don't want to detach the mower if I don't have to.

Did you raise the mmm as far as possible? If it isn't all the way up you can't set the knob to top position. Do you have any implements connected to the back? If so, is that limiting you from fully raising the mmm?

I had it all the way up with and without the tiller mounted. I'm able to turn it to 4" easily enough, but can't get it to turn to the "TOP" position. Should I be pushing on the lift at the same time as turning the knob?

If the 2360 is anything like the 2230, there's nothing to push. Or did you mean help the tractor lift the mower manually? On the 2230, there is a Z shaped bracket welded onto the frame. The height control is a long rod through that bracket with a big cam on the bottom. The lift arms rotate on a shaft just below and in front of this cam and there is a tooth off the back side of it. The cam just rotates into position and won't let the tooth go any higher as the mower drops lower.

I've got a whole thread to myself that follows my episode to get mine fixed.

I believe there is a sequence of steps on how to adjust the lift linkage on the BX series. Have seen it posted a couple of times but if your tractor is still new your dealer should either adjust this for you or give the procedure steps to do it yourself.

For my BX1850 there is a bolt on the left 3PH lift linkage that is used to adjust the mower lift height. Not sure if your BX2360 is the same or not. Do NOT over adjust this because you can damage / twist the lift linkage or break the stops assembly.

You shouldn't have to, but when your MMM reaches the top, keep the lift lever engaged for just a bit longer.

If this doesn't work and RaydaKub's thread doesn't help, I would make the dealer fix it.

This place rocks!

Oldnslo - thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Indeed, the mower was not adjusted correctly and adjusting the linkage up did the trick. Feels good to fix it myself.

To all the rest of you guys that chimed in: thanks a lot. This is a great community.

This happens to me every so often on my BX24. When I lift it all the way up it will either allow me to just pop it right into the Top position like it's supposed to, or it will give me fits - no idea what it is. I don't think I'm doing anything different at all, but when it doesn't go I have to run the mower up and down, sometimes more than once, and eventually it will just pop right in. (Make sure you're running it ALL the way up - that is, not just the mower up but keep the lever held till the 3pt hitch is all the way up.)

OK, did a search and found the thread where you learned how to make the adjustment. Thanks. I noticed in that thread that it was mentioned that this fix had been covered before in other threads - they didn't just tell you to do a search but went ahead and explained. Nice they took the time to do that. However, I can see how it may get tiring to share with some of us newer folks something that has been covered before...

I will try to get better with my search skills prior to making posts.
