I have lots of hilly terian i use the tractor on and really think the use of front weights would help doing tilling work and bb work. I didnt want to always have the loader attached while doing these tasks. This is my solution... on the cheap!

This is the start of my project. All materials used were spare form work and or found in dumpsters. :) at work.
I have yet to calculate the total weight but im guessing 150lbs.
Ill update with more pics as i assy. and paint everything.
Speaking of paint went to lowes this am tried to have them match the paint the were able to but only had one gallon sizes. I my try home depot on the way home any other sugestions on where to get paint.

The more weight the better. I used the John Deere suitcase weights, because that is what I found around here used. Also available from Lowes. As far as paint goes.... I buy the 'new Kubota' orange in rattle cans from Tractor Supply. If you are looking for the grey.... only thing I have found locally was the Kubota grey rattle cans at my local Kubota dealer :(.

Chevy engine orange is recklessly close. Available everywhere in large rattle cans.

TSC new orange is also good.

Grey is Kubota only, AFAIK.

Yup, these 20 series Kubota's could use the extra weight in the front end when working in dirt, that's a fact. Nice project.

Well finished the weights this am. I miss measured the holes on the 2x2 angle.. :( I had to turn it around not a big deal. I can make another sometime but I dont see a need for it. I did cut the all thread after I took the pics. I was going to try one more weight but that will inhibit the FEL. I decided to wait and if I find another weight I can always get longer all thread. The only thing remaining is to get everything painted. I may end up getting kubota ROPS grey in a spray can. I priced a quart of oil based paint from home depot at 12 dollars. I know one can of kubota grey will do the job.

I drove the tractor up a few hills and noticed a huge difference in stability! I still want to load the rear tires but that is for another time. Any of you that do serious dirt work or want to use your BB without the FEL you should really consider adding front weight...

If you find any more of those chunks of metal at work how about sending them up to Boone NC and I will mount them on my B7100. I haven't got my FEL restored yet and may not put it back on even if I do restore it. The B7100 is very light in the front up here in the mountains. I do a lot of steering with the brakes. Good job on your counter weight!

Good job, that weight helps.

No FEL on my B2320. It will do wheelies and actually wants to. I'm cheap and have to keep what money I can to pay Kubota Credit. Here's my front weights.
Brother in law welded the Reese hitch to a steel plate for me and the Sakrete was on sale for around $3 for 80 lbs. Plus 2 pieces of bent rebar for each weight. Also have had BIL cut me a length of pipe that fits in the Reese hitch opening that has a piece of pipe hanging out front to hang weights on. Convinced I have the ugliest cheapest weights in Ky.

JT your project inspired me to put weights on the front of my B. I do think you win for the ugliest cheap weights. :D However both of our weight projects accomplish the same thing.. keeping the nose of our B's planted on the ground..

Speaking of weight any other B owners load their rear tires>? BP i read a post by you asking someone about loading yours?

- John, your weights win the ugly contest hand's down, for sure. But they work.
- DisplacedPA, gorgeous front weights.

As for rear tire loading, most of the folks here on TBN have loaded their tires and I'd sure love to get mine done. Sorely needed for winter snow plowing. I've not filled mine yet, but one of these days .......
