Anyone strip the bolt/turn buckle assembly out on the lower 3pt arms besides me on my B7800? It was always hard to turn even after greasing it,but now it just stripped out. Is there a better way to tighten the attachments? Any suggestions? thanks, brett w

Brett...
There have been others that have had problems with this, but it is usually welds breaking. I have never had any issues and I typically have very heavy things on my L4200 3point. I do keep mime adjusted tight so there is NEVER any inertia to build up in a swinging load.

There have been others that have retrofitted the telescoping check arms on their lower links, I think it was on the smaller tractors. …

I have always liked turnbuckles, you can adjust them to eliminate the side swing, I‘ve got over 900 hrs. with nothing showing any wear. KennyV.

Here is a thread that mentions the problem. Click Here In the thread Aloha changed to the B2910 system.
I typed in turnbuckle for my search, all forums and all post. Had a page of hits.

Thanks,
I've done a little more research. Can you answer this?
The B2910 style telescoping arms may be the way to go and I don't mind spending the money as I'm ready to solve the problem and I plan on keeping this tractor for a LONG time. But, do the telescoping arms replace just the lower arms that I currently have on the 7800? And an I still left with the turnbuckle / bolt stabilizer system (that was a royal pain)
The problem (other than eventurally stripping out) was it was really hard to adjust. I had to turn it with a big screw driver even after taking it apart and greasing it well.
thanks again, Brett W

Telescopic stabilizers and telescoping arms are 2 different items. Here is a thread that has a parts list for the B2910.
Click Here It also contains info on installing the Telescopic stabilizers.
The telescoping arms can also be added to your tractor. They allow manual movement of the balls that are on the lower links of the 3PH. Click Here

Ron,
Thanks again for the help. I just emailed Dave for the parts info since my machine keeps freezing up on the parts book download. I'll make the change ASAP.
thanks again, Brett W

My turnbuckles stripped at about 130 hours of use.

I did not include the telescoping lower arms in my repair because I have never felt the need for that feature. Below is the list of parts I ordered from tractorsmart.com to replace the turnbuckle style check chain with the pipe stabilizers used on the B2910:

ITEM No.............DESCRIPTION...............QTY
6C040-65120......BOLT SET.......................1
6C070-65310......BRACKET,STABILIZER.....2
6C070-65320......PIPE,STABILIZER............2
05122-61245......PIN, JOINT......................2
6C070-65350......BOLT,STABILIZER...........2
6C070-65333......ASSY STABILIZER...........2
05122-51235......PIN, JOINT......................2
05515-61000......PIN, SNAP***................10
6C070-65340......PIN,STABILIZER..............6
02174-50160......NUT................................5
04512-60160......WASHER,SPRING............10
04015-60160......WASHER, THICK.............10

The complete assembly is shown on page 124 of the B2910 parts manual.

There are some extra parts on that list that I got just to have on hand, and as I recall the last 3 items on the list could have been omitted entirely, so double check the list against the illustration.

It is a very easy easy and quick job to do this. I have been very happy with the result.

It hs always been on my agenda to replace these when wore out or stripped. Unfortunate that I was in the middle of something and did not have the parts on hand to go with the new stablizers others have mentioned.

So I went back to the dealer for another turnbuckle. Wahh... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I ended up hiting the original with WD-40 and a screwdriver to get it off. I guess the attachment swung just right enough to cause the damage, Since then I tighten just a little more to eliminate sway altogether.
