Were you able to diagnose this problem? I note that the manual says "Do not tow with rear wheels on the ground". I suspect that coasting down a hill with power off is much the same thing as towing, depening on what speed was achieved.

    BX2660 Boken Engine Mounts

I've just had this bracket failure on a BX24 (900+ hours). The symptom was a loose metal rattling/clanking noise. The front tab on the left hand engine support has fractured where it joins the engine support bracket), leaving the small fragment still bolted to the rubber cushion but no longer...

BX: How is your alternate HST fan replacement solution holding up?

I have to replace my busted HST fan, either via the expensive Kubota-approved technique of moving the engine and shaft apart or a cheaper homebrew solution such as: - cut the new fan in one place, twist to get it over the shaft. Bolt / glue / zip-tie into place. - cut twice into halves. Bolt...

BX has skid plate, but still lost all the blades from the HST driveshaft fan

I assumed that having installed a Bro-Tek Rear Skidplate on my BX24 from new, that the HST fan would be safe from damage. I was wrong - as revealed in a recent service when the plate was removed and revealed the fan with no blades. So this is just a heads-up call for other BX owners not to...

Brush fork / trash fork option

I just had a brush fork delivered for my BX24. Purchased from Greg at Ground Works (Michigan) who sells via eBay. Here's a pic, but I put the full details on the BX Wiki here. I mention it only because I've not seen that supplier mentioned before on this forum.

Where are my seat spacers (BX24) ?

Scattered on my property no doubt. Anyway it's worth checking the central nut under the BX24 seat support for tightness. Mine was loose and further inspection revealed 3 of my 4 plastic seat spacers missing, and one of the steel balls was also bidding for freedom. The parts manual shows two...

    WR Long Flat Toothbar anyone?

Does anyone here have any experience of the WR Long Flat Toothbar? Especially on a BX? I've seen one reference on the JD forum. The flat bottom seems like a handy advantage, but it would be nice to know if someone has already installed one on a BX. (I know that most BX folks here have the...

Does Bro-Tek Thumb have same slipping problem as Wallenstein?

I've read many threads about the problem with Wallenstein thumbs slipping along the boom and damaging a nearby hydraulic fitting, especially on BX24. No need to rehash the same threads again (really!). I just want know if Bro-Tek thumb has this problem. (My gut feel is that these threads...

    Presenting ... a BX wiki

Recently I was a wannabe BX24 newbie. Now I've eliminated the "wannabe" part! In doing my research I discovered TBN and realized it is great for browsing on a daily basis, or for asking a specific question. But it has some shortcomings for searching and navigation. Many questions have been asked...

Dealer  BX24: Before delivery, any adjustments I should ask dealer to do?

... for a BX24 with just the FEL and BH and Turf tires. I'd like to know of any adjustments I should have the dealer do (rather than having to do them myself or call someone out later.) I'm thinking particularly of stability adjustments (but any other suggestions are welcome). Does the BX24...

Backhoe  BX24: ROPS position when installing backhoe - any relationship?

[Aspiring BX24 owner so I can't answer this for myself.] Does the ROPS have to be up to attach the backhoe? The question is motivated by my garage door height and how often I may have to raise/lower the ROPS as I enter garage to pick up attachments.

How new should a "new" BX24 on the lot be?

I saw the thread elsewhere about the acceptable number of clock hours on a new tractor, but my question relates to the manufacture date/time on lot of new BX24s (which I'm considering). 1) The earliest reference I found to BX24 in this forum dates from December 2005 so I guess the model name is...
