Loader A gentle reminder that tractors are not dozers

I don’t think I do things that could cause my CT120 to do that……but I have to ask. Is this a universal weak point in all tractors? It is broken as if the tractor is made in two sections and then bolted together in the middle.

    3 point rising up

Some of the responders talk of their 3 pt control as a joy stick type. I have a lever that I push forward to lower the hitch and pull back to raise it. If I choose set the hitch at a certain position there is a lock/stay on the lever that is supposed to hold the hitch in place.

Mowing on slopes maximum angle before tip

I have to admit that I don’t have any hills in the sense we are talking about them. My tipping experiences are (FEL) load related.

Mowing on slopes maximum angle before tip

Can tip factor be measured? For example, jack the machine up on two wheels to the same degree of the measured slope you usually mow. Now try to lift the machine. If machine moves at all, it’s a no go. Never tipped but when a wheel comes off the ground the pucker factor is the gold standard...

Clearing 154 acres of woods in west Tennessee

Don’t know who he is but I don’t usually either and I’m a newish member. However, the headline on the trending email caught my attention…. 150 acres? I thought the pioneer days were over. I actually thought there were valid reasons for nearly all the points raised.

But they probly should be…at least half as much.

    Water in hydraulic reservoir?

I think I mentioned in a previous post that all my connections to the hydraulic system/reservoir that I can see are not on a horizontal plane. They are connected through the vertical side of the hydraulic case. My go pedal, range shifter and “clutch” are those things. No top connected floor...

    Water in hydraulic reservoir?

In effect, yes. I inserted some tubing into the dipstick hole and blew into it (after changing the fluid) and then inserted the dip stick. One could see a very slight tinge of discoloration.

Mine was financed but Wells Fargo (a verified criminal enterprise) and they required a rider on my homeowne.

    It’s all advice.

Regarding useable: So you are going to stack your logs while clearing and then at some point start milling them into fencing? With 150 acres of previously untouched land the trees would likely be substantial. When will this mill work begin? Assume you already own a good mill that works fast.

    Water in hydraulic reservoir?

Have to keep the tarp but will just cover seat area. I live in the woods in NY, mid Hudson valley. Snow in winter and caterpillar droppings in the spring/summer time period. Still don’t understand why dipstick never showed the contaminated fluid. The dipstick is not flexible and it is short...

    Water in hydraulic reservoir?

The tractor has been stored outside all the time. Sometimes under hard cover but mostly under a tarp. I live in NY, mid Hudson valley. Fluid has been changed at least once. I have 820 hrs on the machine. This isn’t clear because I had problems with the machine and it was at dealer several...

    Water in hydraulic reservoir?

I have a first generation Bobcat CT120 (2012). I changed my hydraulic fluid yesterday and you can see the results by the picture. The dipstick NEVER showed that color. I have an intact screw cap on fill hole…ALWAYS. The fluid was in the clear container overnight and there was no oil/water...
