Building a boomless sprayer-Continental Belton pump?

I've been slowly collecting parts to build a boomless sprayer. I've been borrowing a 50' boom sprayer, but I don't like traveling 14' wide down the highway, and I don't like borrowing. So I got a 200 gal tank, and a boomless sprayer. I have two Continental Belton PT-2 pumps that I found in an...

    Planting "on a hill"

I've always heard the old timers refer to rows as hills, or "planting on a hill". Well this year for my little garden, I upped the ante! I planted my "hills", literally ON A HILL. It's about 2' above , and about 4' away from the water level of the bayou that I live on, in hope that the ground...

    Hi crop for hay?

There are several JD 7410 hi crops for sale locally for between 8-10k. This looks so good, it must be too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? I'm guessing there's an issue with the drawbar and lift arm height? Could it work? Any personal experience? I'm getting tired of being burnt out...

    Anyone use this setup?

Today, I bought this fuel pump and a 3'x8' steel tank for $200 from a service station that went out of business. But I'm not sure how much work I'm in for, to put it together. If I can get it going, it was a lot cheaper than a new setup. Any pointers, do's or dont's?

    Old JD hyd coupling

I'be got a JD 1020 that I use as my rake tractor. I just bought a 10 wheel rake and got rid of the side delivery rake. But my hyd remote is the old JD style. My rake (and my other tractors) have ISO. So I'm looking for just a conversion to plug into the JD to convert, without rebuilding it...

Keep the NH or switch to a MF?

Ok, I currently have a NH311 baler. I work on it once in a while, but it hardly ever messes up a bale. But it's pretty rusted out. I have the chance to buy a MF 124 baler that's still got the paint on the inside of the chute. It's really still like new. The biggest downfall that I can think of...

    NH 311 wagon hitch

Would anyone with a hitch on a 311 be able to send me a picture of what it looks like? I need to make one, but I need to see how it's designed and where it connects to the baler. The parts breakdown that I saw doesn't show how it works.

    Brown top millet for hay?

I run a small square baling business, and I had someone ask me to cut and bale about 10 acres of millet. They want to do it on a 1/4 (they load it and stack it in my barn and I keep 3/4 of it. Does anyone typically use millet as hay? From my research, there's a test that one can do to make sure...

    Flat Proofing  Airplane tires

I did a search and it came back empty, so I'll ask... Anyone running airplane tires on implement rims? I'm not that far away from Gensco tire, which advertises airplane tires mounted on a Ag rim for implement use. I'm thinking about putting some on an old cotton trailer to haul hay. Anyone use...

    PZ drum mower oil level

Hello everyone! I recently inherited an older PZ (zweegers) drum cutter. I've read through a manual that I found online, and was able to quickly figure out how to change the blades and grease it. But I cannot figure out how to check/drain the oil. The directions are way too vague, and in some...

Where is John Deere's roll guard program

Well, I am on the quest for a roll guard for my 3020. After calling all of the junk yards in the state, I decided to look for help online. I saw several new ones with a top in the $1200-1500 range. But I don't really want to spend that much. I then saw a thread talking about John Deere offering...

    JD 640 hay rake

I've got 2 of the 640 hay rakes- one that I use, and one for parts. I am looking for a better way to rebuild the rolabar knuckles. I've got one that's frozen, so I want to rebuild it, and id like to have an extra on hand. All of the ones on my spare rake, I wouldn't trust swapping out. They...

Quick Hitches  JD Cat III quick hitches

There's a local collector that I just bought a JD 3020 from, and I asked him if he had a Cat II quick hitch to go with it. He said no, but that he has between 10-15 Cat III hitches that he's looking to get rid of. Some are cast iron, some aren't. All of my implement are Cat II. Would it be a big...

Ford 4000- Why can't I decipher the numbers?

Greetings! I am sure that this has been discussed already, but I cannot find the answer. I am looking at buying a 3-cyl Ford 4000, and am just trying to do some research before making a decision. I got the numbers off of it, but I can't seem to look it up using the links that everyone has...
