I'm shopping for a new, larger chainsaw and have just about decided on a Stihl 026 or a 026PRO. The major difference is the PRO has compression release and costs $40 more. My question is - is it worth it?

I have gasoline powered generator rated at 5500 watts peak 4500 continuous. I would like to run my AC arc welder with it. I rarely weld at more than 80-90 amps and I believe the electrodes are at 50 volts so it seems like it should work. (50 volts x 90 amps = 4500 watts). Has anyone tried this?

Is there a common standard length for firewood? I have a lot of dead oak trees on my property that I'm thinking of cutting into firewood. I don't have a use for it myself so this would be for sale. I don't expect to get rich but it sure seems a shame to just burn it. Maury Jacobs
