Thanks everyone for the great input! I will be sticking with the Ford factory joystick. Now on to the next challenge which will be mounting the Westendorf loader on this tractor. Mounting brackets will need to be modified or I will need to order model specific brackets from Westendorf.
Thank you K5lwq. And after looking up the Summit Hydraulics spool valve (that is installed on the loader) I see that there is a 3rd port for power beyond. Just have to decide if having the newer valve is worth the work to modify (the valve on the loader is 2 years old while the one on the...
Thanks TractorTech and LouNY for your recommendations. Indeed that seems the simplest route. Still would like to understand the reason for the 3 line vs 2 line difference between the valve assemblies. Will probably continue to research a bit to figure that out.
Happy Easter!
Just purchased a used Westendorf loader to mount on my NH2120. The NH has an existing 2 spool remote control assembly on it (diagram attached). 3 lines run in to the valve assembly and 4 lines run out to the implement. The Westendorf has an 2 lever control mounted to the loader with 2...
Well, I got the line to stop leaking (at least for now). Had to pull all four of the 12mm front lines and one of the 15mm lines to get to the one leaking. Confirmed that they are DIN fittings. The 27mm line wrench (sometimes called a flare nut wrench) was essential to tighten the leaking...
I have the parts catalog for the tractor but unfortunately, the description is next to useless. Parts 27,28,and 29 are the tubes in question. Description is "Pipe-Oil" NH website offers no additional information. Same for Messicks
Thanks WinterDeere. Micrometer is indicating 15mm... unless the paint is so thick it is throwing it off. Can't be as small as 12mm and certainly is not 16mm. Hy-Lok makes fittings for 15mm tube so maybe? Either that or we are back to fractional and JIS. As you say, need to get one removed...
Thank you wdchyd. I share your concerns about over tightening. I believe that these fittings are meant to seal with with a specific number of turns. Not sure if that applies only to first install or also to re-install. Thanks also for the picture. Helps to verify type of connector. So am I...
Thanks for the input everyone. Tube does appear to be metric. Measured OD at .5925" (15mm).
27mm line wrench is on order. Will try to tighten and let you know what I find out.
I have an hydraulic leak at one of the supply line fittings to the loader control on a NH 2120. Assume it is a JIC 37 degree flare fitting. Is it reasonable to think that I can stop this leak without having to replace the entire line (because of the flared tubing end)? Has anyone had...
Thanks everyone for the great feedback.
Have already tried a number of methods including the JB Weld and TIG welding. Block crack continues to propagate and spider web off from the the main crack. Mechanic suspects it might be a bad casting. In the meantime, I have located a used engine that...
