What have you pulled out of a tire?

It amazes me what things can somehow randomly penetrate a tire by just driving over it. Pulled this 7/16"x11/4" bolt out of the wife's car tire this morning.

    Just bring your own oil....

Went to visit my daughter in the city yesterday and as it was time to have the oil changed in her car, we decided to drop it off at the Toyota dealer while we went out to lunch. When I told the service guy I wanted the synthetic oil, I was suprised when he replied " Toyota synthetic is...

    Aftermarket Toplink holder...

I went to Home Depot. Got a length of 1/4" zinc plated rod. With a hammer and a vise I bent into shape. I even slid a piece of clear 3/8 tubing on the hook end to keep it from scratching the top link cylinder. Then I mounted it where the original was. You can see the original and larger toplink...

    Oil Filters For 2815HST

Been there, done that. Here's some pics of the inside of the OEM/Denso oil filter for a 3215. Never seen this type of filter material before. Was like a hard brittle sponge.

    TH6x4 Gator starter

With a little over 2000hrs on my 2006 Gator I had to replace my original starter. Not too suprised as we use it every day and start and stop the machine faily often. Was pretty sure it was the solenoid that was not fully engaging, but was able to replace the whole starter with an aftermarket on...

    3215 rear light connection

It's time to hook up some extra lighting to my canopy. I know there is a rear electrical connection for a rear light. It gets power from the headlight switch. Wondering if this cicuit can handle 2 additional 55 watt halogen lights. At the fuse holder in the engine compartment there is a 10 amp...

    Needle Valves

Thinking of adding needle valve/s to get finer control of my hydraulic top link cylinder. I have one set of remotes (2 hoses with 2 QD). Do I need to add a valve on each hose or just one since I understand a needle valve restricts flow in both directions? Thanks.

    3215 hydraulic connections?

Was looking under my 3215 seat yesterday on the right side and was wondering if these connections are hydraulic? There are two connections. Couldn't get a real good picture of the second port. Looks exactly like the one you can see though. I added arrows for clarity. Thanks.

How many minutes on this oil?

Just thought I'd share. After warming up the tractor and then changing the oil, I ran it for about 5 minutes and then came back in about 30 minutes to check the oil level. It was showing a tad high on the stick, maybe a 1/4 of an inch over the full hole. Not a lot. Of course being new oil it...

    Inside a Japanese oil filter

It was time for the annual oil change on my Mahindra (Mitsubishi) 3215 tractor, so I decided to cut open my used Denso oil filter. Was suprised by what I found. The filter material is best described as compressed felt formed in 12 large pleats. It was saturated with oil, like a sponge, firm and...

    Inside a Denso oil filter

Well, it's that time of year again. Time to do the annual oil change on the 3215 tractor. She's goin' on 4 years old, can't believe it. Put a whopping 68hrs on her this year too. The clear coat on the hood is peeling pretty good now. Dealer never did get back to me about repainting it...

    Bush Hog Razorback

Finally had to get a Rotary Mower. With all this rain and hot weather we've been having, my pastures were getting overgrown in some areas. The horses couldn't keep up with it! Went with a 5' Razorback for my 25 PTO HP tractor since all I'm mowing is tall grass. Handles it well. Never...

    New Toy

Got a Bush Hog finally. With all this rain and heat we've been having, the horses just couldn't keep up with the growing grass and it's been getting out of control in spots. Went with a 5' Razorback, since I'm really just dealing with tall grass. Does the job and didn't slow the tractor down at...

    Flail Mower  Caroni owner question?

I've been reading through the posts for Caroni flail mowers and noticed that several people had to cut the pto shaft they got with the mower. I know it varies somewhat with tractor used, but was wondering what the final measurements are for the correct length? Thanks
