Correct Torque on The Four Rear Axle Seal Retainer Bolts

Hi Folks, A small fluid seepage at the gasket (not seal) on my right rear axle on my TC34DA makes me have to put a drip tray down. Would like to try re-torquing to see if that stops the leak. Anyone know the correct torque on those bolts? Jeff

3-Point Hitch  3-Point Hitch Lowering Itself While Working

While carrying a large sprayer yesterday, I noticed that when going downhill on bumpy terrain the 3-pt was lowering itself. Not good, as my sprayer would start dragging on the ground. I think the problem is the raising and lowering lever, which would move due to the orientation of the tractor...

3 Pt Dumping Platform for Increasing Carrying Capacity - Anyone Use This?

I've been trying to find a suitable trailer for carrying debris with my compact tractor since my bucket fills up far too quickly. Usually, I keep piling the branches on until I can barely see to drive. Maneuverability is a plus. Then, the new Northern Tools catalog arrived and I saw a nice 3...

Oil & Fuel  TC34DA Owners Manual Doesn't Mention Correct Oil for Front Axle

Man, I've read through the manual several times and cannot find the correct lubricant type for the front axle (has diff and final reduction gears). It could be hydraulic fluid or maybe 90W gear oil. Don't want to guess. Anyone with a similar 4wd NH that can help clear this up? :confused2:

Proper Amount of Front End Ballast

Thought I would close this one out showing the results. First, I hung 265 pounds off the front (first photo) and went out to try out the tractor on a steep incline with the full spray rig on the 3 pt. The front wheels immediately slipped and started going sideways. I let out 50 liters of...

Anyone have Ag Tires/Wheels for a TC34DA They Want to Sell/Trade?

Just wanted to close the loop. I got custom wheels from Hey Manufacturing for a reasonable cost and they built them like I wanted - W-I-D-E. As you can see in the photo, I've got a ton more stability. Happy camper!

Anyone Have a Front Weight Carrier Bracket They Don't Need?

I think most of the NH compact tractors come with a very small bracket for front weights that's about 6 inches wide on the flat part and has three holes (see attached photo). To get more than 200 pounds on there you need an add-on bracket that my NH manual calls out as part 718233006 kit, but...

Proper Amount of Front End Ballast

Hi All, I'll take delivery of an 80 gallon sprayer this week and to use it most effectively, I'll be removing my FEL to more easily turn around at the end of my vineyard rows. The sprayer plus 50 gallons (that's all I dare carry around my steep vineyard) comes to about 800 pounds when full. My...

TC34DA Needs New Right Rear Axle Seal

Hi Folks, Anyone have any experience replacing a rear axle seal on a small New Holland? At first blush it looks like the axle housing may have to come off. Major or simple? Will I need a manual? Norcal

Starmaxx, Titan, Interco, BKT - All OK?

Hi Folks, Shopping for ag R1 tires for my compact tractor for better traction out there on the hills and the four above brands look affordable and acceptable. Any of these I should steer clear of?

Swapping Tire Sizes But Keeping 4WD Happy

Hi Folks, I have been looking for tires and wheels to convert my NH TC34DA to ag tires and found that I can get a great deal on a new pair of rears from a Mahindra 4035 (14.9 x 24, diameter 48.5") on wheels that fit my tractor hole and lugs. Now, I need to make sure I get the right ratio of...

Buying Advice  Are Mahindra and New Holland Wheels Interchangeable?

Folks, I am trying to change over from industrial R4 wheels and tires to Ag R1s on my New Holland TC34DA and got to talking with a Mahindra dealer out here. He says he puts together packages for Mahindras for about $1K. That's a big contrast with my NH dealer who is quoting me $3K. In the...

Ballast  How Many Degrees of Side Tilt is Safe?

Hi Folks, Granted, each tractor, its attachments and the position of the attachments is going to be different and therefore give a different answer to this question, but I'm on the verge of ordering an inclinometer (looks like R&B Manufacturing is the one to get) to calibrate my...

Anyone have Ag Tires/Wheels for a TC34DA They Want to Sell/Trade?

Hi Guys, I think the tires that came on my TC34DA are called R4's. They are what I'd call a general use construction tire. They are pretty good, but in the steep sections of my vineyard they slip when it gets muddy. Anyone have any Ag tires for a TC34DA they would like to part with? Norcal
