48" Mower Deck 2 Blades Stopped Rotating

I got everything put back together this evening and went out for a mow. I also spoke with Terry at PowerTrac this morning about how tight the belt should be. He said to clear the debris on the deck, don't mess with any adjustments, and see if the belt slips again. I'm a little rough sometimes...

48" Mower Deck 2 Blades Stopped Rotating

May have to remove them after every use with the darn mice around here. We need to get a cat... Thanks everyone.

48" Mower Deck 2 Blades Stopped Rotating

The belt slipped. Had a nice lil mouse nest next to one of the blade pulleys. The mouse did not survive. The fourth tension pulley seems slightly loose and wobbly. Will tighten this evening.

48" Mower Deck 2 Blades Stopped Rotating

Hey All, I'm back again with another issue... Was mowing on this lovely evening in Western NC. I lifted the mower deck up out of float to avoid imbalance while on a slope. When I put it back down and into float I noticed it was much quieter. I lifted it again to look at the blades and only...

    PT425 Stall/Loss of Power

The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery is a good read if you haven't yet. My Ocotpus Teacher was also a neat movie to watch. Window cleaning at the aquarium must have been cool. I'll look into the vapor lock threads. Thanks for all the help everyone. Pete 🐙

    PT425 Stall/Loss of Power

Morning! So I mowed yesterday and the machine did not stall or even sputter one bit. Two things that were different this time, it was about 20 degrees (Fahrenheit) cooler out and I really minimized lifting the mower deck out of the float function while the PTO was running. Not sure if either...

    PT425 Stall/Loss of Power

@MossRoad it seems to be carburetor... the owners manual states that a high altitude carburetor kit is required when operating above 4000 ft. I still need to fully familiarize myself with the engine... the owners manual does not have a full schematic so I'll need to download. I wish I knew...

    PT425 Stall/Loss of Power

@MossRoad It does not seem to be running on one cylinder. I'd hear a miss firing/popping sound and I'd feel the decrease in power, correct? It is indeed the Kohler engine (purchased the machine in 2021 from PowerTrac). One thing I just noticed was some hydraulic oil dripping on the toe of my...

    PT425 Stall/Loss of Power

Hi Fellow PTers, Has anyone ever stalled out while in use? I was mowing yesterday and everything was going great then suddenly I lost all power... chug chug chug then stalled out. I said to myself, "there's no way I went through a full tank of gas already." So I checked the tank and it was...

PT425 Electrical Short - Doesn't Start with Jump

You're doing it all eh @ponytug. Very cool. I'll add you to my "who to bug for tips" list. Thank for giving me some insight on the tent and how to get the cover a bit tighter. I will definitely wait for warmer weather to try out the suggestions.

PT425 Electrical Short - Doesn't Start with Jump

Beautiful where you are as well. We hope it works out too. We enjoy being social but aiming for a slightly more mellow vibe 😃 I really like the Shelter Logic so far. We've had 12+ inch snowfalls a few times this winter and it holds up great. I have to loosen and re-tighten all the ratchets...
