3-Point Hitch JD 2520 Hydraulic Pump

While messing with the pump, noticed that a 12mm 12pt socket/wrench would fit over the shaft and the shaft would turn. I asked the parts guy at the dealer if the shaft would be hard to turn by hand or if it was free spinning. He said it should be hard to turn by hand. I put everything back...

3-Point Hitch  JD 2520 Hydraulic Pump

Using rear cutter the other day and noticed a noise coming from engine. Lowered the RPM and disengaged the PTO to investigate an noticed smoke coming from hydraulic pump. Reved up the RPMs and noticed noise again. Went to drive tractor to garage and 3-pt wouldn't lift. Once in garage, I...

    Small crane for JD2520

The lifting eyes were rusty. I was too scared to use them and have them break apart. On the other lid, one eye was missing the top section. It only had two pieces sticking out from the lid.

    Small crane for JD2520

I needed to remove two septic tank 5 ft. lids. I borrowed a boom pole hoping to remove them with my JD2520. No dice. The lids were too heavy. They wouldn't budge an inch. I have a 9.5k winch and knew the winch wouldn't have a problem lifting them. So I came up with this. I used 2x2x1/4...

Trailer got stolen, so decided to build one

Got the dovetail decked out. Want to place the ramps anywhere along the bar, so came up with this. Used a 2x4x1/4" rectangular tube cut in 4" pieces, then cut in half. Centered a foot apart. The bar is 1".

Trailer got stolen, so decided to build one

Convinced my wife it would be cheaper to just build a trailer than buy one. Decided to build an 8x20 foot trailer. Comparable trailers costs around $4,700 (Big Tex brand) at local dealer. After buying the steel, axles, tires, and everything I needed, the savings wasn't what I expected. Since...

    Hay Spear/2" Receiver/Gooseneck Ball

Went over to visit a cousin and noticed he needed a new hay spear for two reasons: 1. he bought a bigger tractor (Ford TW30) with Cat. 3 three point hitch and 2. his hay spear was cracked at bottom at the juncture between vertical and horizontal tubes. I also noticed that he sold his truck...

    Any boaters here?

I've got a Flats Cat 21 with an E-Tec 150 by Evinrude. I've never considered myself a boater, just a fisherman who happens to own a boat. I enjoy fishing the flats of South Texas, don't go offshore. One day I'll get another boat to go offshore in. Sold my first boat (Gulf Coast 180 with an...

    3PT/FEL 2" Receiver Hitch

Finally painted my hitch. Didn't rough up the surface like I wanted to. As soon as I banged it wile bolting on the lower pins, some paint came off. Oh well. Besides that, I'm happy the way it turned out. Not professional, but it does what its suppose to.

    3PT/FEL 2" Receiver Hitch

Here's my version of a 3pt/FEL hitch. To attach to the FEL, I used 3/8" plate welded to Chris Perry's FEL QA plates. For the 3pt, I cut out plates from the 3/8" steel I have. The gussets for the lower arm pins were made by cutting a 2"-1/4" square tube at a 45 degree angle. The upper arm...
