help! moving day and tractor died

2001 TC40 DA
We turned it off to load up a pallet and then tried to start it. The warning light worked as usual but nothing happened. It was like it was in gear or I got out of the seat. I tried the gears and the PTO to no avail. BTW the wife got up out of the seat tnad that is how it died in the first place.

Check the connection on the battery. I had a case just like that had enough power to light the dash indicators but not to turn over the engine. It happened all of a sudden, last time I started it, it turned over just fine then all of a sudden nothing.

If you lift up your seat there is a safety switch. On the bottom underside of the seat there is a strip of steel that is riveted to the seat. When you are sitting on the seat the small curved piece of steel presses down on the safety switch. If you look around under there it is towards the rear.... My riveted piece of crappy cheap safety stuff came apart. I riveted back in place and rebent it, and it now works well. Without it NOTHING works.... (there are other things, but check this out)

It the seat switch looks OK, check fuse #2 behind the instrument panel.

My TN 70A had a lose connection by the starter, which resulted in similar symptoms as yours. One second it started just fine, next attempt, nothing.

Ok, I'm living between two houses so I didn't even have my multimeter. I had a friend come over to help me load the thing on the trailer. We made a by pass wire to check the seat switch. That didnt help.
So we took a wire from the fuel pump to the battery and hot wired the starter and it stated and ran. That was great as I would have never got the gun safe on the truck with out it.
As a side note, The bobcat quick attachment forks has proved time and again the best attachment I own.
I'm now living in the snow for the first time and need to be able to scrape the road. So I need to get this thing running asap.
DocHeb I will look for the fuse.
The symptoms again.... Turn the key and the dash lights up, glow plug light goes off, turn the key further and nothing happens.

check your parking brake connectors underneath by the brake. That is part of the circuit also. look for a loose connector of the 2 wires that connect there. Good luck

I opened the fuse panel and second fuse on the passenger side was blown. I replaced this fuse but still nothing. I turned the key on and it didnt blow again.

Does anyone know where the nuetral safety switch is on the TC40DA?
Also I have a two prong plug hanging loose under the driver side foot board. I cannot find where it plugs into.
I'm about ready to call someone.

I have to hunt for neutral on my tc45d.

Usually, I move the starter switch to the start position, and move the range selector around until it turns over. That always works for me.

However, I don't have any loose connections under my platform.
