Your kidding! The coupler I have appears to be all one piece! I unscrwed the coupler from the hose, now I have a coupler w/ hex and knurled. I took a pair of channel locks on the knurled, and a crescent on the hex and NOTHING MOVED! I myself assumed they were two pieces, I put the coupler under a magnafiying glass and it appeares as though it is all one piece! HA! Defective is an understatement if I understand this coupler is suppose dot be two pieces! NUTS! I'll take pics later...

Ok then riddle me this, how did they get the chuck jaws in there? Put the hex/flat rear part into a vise, and take the biggest baddest pair of channel locks you own, and twist the knurled portion until you twist it in two. You have nothing to lose at this point.

Some people might not realize, same as me, that the coupler is a 2-piece unit. The 2 halves of mine were jammed together so tight at the factory that I had to put one end in a vice & lay all my weight on a pair of vice grips gripping the other end to break it free. Moves like butter now. It was actually so tight I wasn't sure mine was actually a 2-piece coupler unit, but I figured I had nothing to lose by trying really hard if I broke it, since it was gonna break more of my zerks if I turned out to be a 1-piece coupler.

BINGO! LOL, Oh man..... ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I will put it in a vise
I guess. I am no weakling, by far, I put a pair of Channel locks and a cresent wrench on it and I started to marr the unit so I quit! Oh man...whats there problem? Or should I say Problemo' and awnser my own question? HA!

You see at the grease gun coupler factory they have this gorilla, whose job it is to run the Ingersol Rand 600 ft lb impact. And to make sure that every coupler is "properly" torqued. It is a world wide conspiracy. They all do it.
Now get that thing in a vise and either unscrew it or break it!:)

There are 1 piece units available HOWEVER on the 1134 it should be a 2 piece heavy duty coupler. My 1134 has a 2 piece HD.

I thought that too ... use more power! A lot more power (but still be careful of course). It should pop free.

This is just one of the many ways the Chinese are picking on & laughing at us.

(assuming of course it was made in China :()

Not all of the couplers are the two piece adjustable kind. I have three that are and one that wasn't. Since the non adjustable one is worthless and they really don't cost much I put it on the vice and used a 2' pipe wrench until I broke it in two. I have an accessory kit that includes both a narrow diameter coupler, a right angle coupler (less than $4 shipped on ebay), and various needles to get into tight places.

i tried a 12v cigarette lighter grease gun. after 5 zerks. i tossed it into the garbage can. and went back to the old manual one handed greaser gun. with flex hose on it.

trying to deal with cords, *shakes head no*

those stinking hoses were just a pain and took 5 times longer to mess with. (un-wind, get kinks out, unwind, get nots out, unwind some more, pull them around, plus trying find some spot to set end of hose down so grease doesn't get every were)

one hand normally holds a rag or some paper towels, with end of of the flex hose. while other pumps the grease. KISS (keep it simply stupid)

one thing that i might pay more for for a generic run of the mill grease gun, is some larger knuckles coming off the bottom end cap. so if things get greased i would be better able to grab a hold of and unloosen to reload another cartridge.

the other thing, i should do. is buy a better end that goes over the zerks. a little grease on the end of nozzle and it can be a pain to twist sometimes to remove off of zerks. be nice if the twisting action happened a few inches more away from the end of nozzle. atleast for me.

it would be nice to have a quick attach like air hoses. but smaller in diameter. so i might be able to quickly attach a longer short metal pipe between flex hose and nozzle. between tractors, and implements, trying to get into some spots a short end flex hose is nice. but sometimes a shorter straight pipe on end of a flex hose could be very nice. atleast for me.

when i start getting up into the years. i might start looking at a battery operated grease gun. hopefully by then, i will have a heated garage and will not have to worry about batteries with shorter charge due to cold temps.
