Smoking Meth fights the flu
LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas) There might be a reason why no one on "Breaking Bad" gets the flu. Recent experiments with the drug methamphetamine shows that the drug acts as an inhibitor to the influenza virus.
Scientists in Taiwan were curious on how meth interacts with the influenza virus.
Using tissue samples of lung cells the scientists exposed them to different amounts of meth, and the results were surprising. Scientists found that the meth-exposed tissue samples had a reduction of the influenza virus.
The virus that was used was the H1N1 flu, or what is commonly known as swine flu.
Although the results could lead to new flu treatments it's not good to self-medicate. Meth still reduces the effectiveness of the immune system and previous studies found that meth reduces the bodies ability to fight off diseases, such as HIV.
Meth is also extremely addictive and leads to tooth decay.
Nevada is leading the nation in meth addiction. Meth use in the state is 180 percent higher than the national average.
The study was published in PLOS One.

30 years ago, I might not have written that.
30 years ago, meth wasn't too popular...the upper of choice was cocaine (powder, not crack). Can't say I didn't enjoy it, but I sure wish I'd invested the money elsewhere (100% hindsight, y'know).

I have heard (never seen) how different people make that crap, and can't for the life of me figure out why people would put that in their bodies. At least the other ones are at least partially or completely dreived from natural ingredients.
My beer of choice is probably grolsch, but for cost reasons I usually stick to coors, mgd, or occasionally heineken.

Roy, I found out that my Crown royal bottle takes up less space in a cabinet than a case of beer in the fridge:laughing: leaves enough room for my sometimes "coffee creamer" (Amarula):thumbsup:

I had to give up the hard liquor (except for an occasional shot) after the heart attack. Anyway, a buzz is a buzz is a buzz...
