Painting is just about done, I had to break down and do much of the brushwork myself, but I wanted to get it over with. There is only the laundry room and a small back hall that need to have the cutting in done. Not a big deal. At least all the rooms that will have furniture moved into them are now ready.

On a down note, we turned on the water and the water heater is broken. Cracked in transit is my guess. Water was leaking everywhere. We knew there was a leak from when we air pressurized the system, but we couldn't find it with only air. We found it quickly when the water was turned on.

Sorry to hear about the water heater. Here you can get a free one, or a deep discount from the gas company or electric company. I guess they know it is one of the biggest users of energy in your home, and they will make their money back.

I believe the offer rebates here, it is something I will definitely be checking on.

I needed to rebuild some stairs for one of the entryways. My dad and I cut the stringers yesterday, and I added the treads today.

Starting to get blinds installed.

As an aside, whenever working over a toilet make sure the lid is closed. A near miss reminded me of that.

Man, oh man, but you guys have some red tape. In my rural county you would have been living there as soon as they assigned you an address. As long as the well driller turns in the permit, you are good to go. The health department guy does come out and pour a glass of water on the ground to see if it will drain. That is about the extent of the septic inspection. But hang in there, Buddy. You guys will be in before you know it.

First night sleeping at the new place! Took a temporary certificate of occupancy, but we are in.
