5075E- what am I doing wrong?

I’ve driven tractors for most of my life. I just got a new to me 5075E JD tractor. 2019 model with power reverser. I have been able to operate it, but sometimes when I crank, I am unable to put it in gear and “make it go”. I realize this is operator error, but what am I doing wrong? I start with...

    Sprayer question

I am in the market for an herbicide sprayer with the following things: 1. Pull type, i.e. trailer 2. 100 gallon 3. 12v power 4. Boomless. 5. Under (or close to) a grand. I am having a real hard time finding one locating one. Anybody know of any manufacturers? Seems like a pretty common sprayer.

    Fuel storage

I am considering storing diesel fuel in a 55 gallon drum (metal or plastic). I would then use a had crank to pump it into the tractor. I'm sure some of you guys have done this. How did it work? What's the best way to get the container to/ from the gas station?

    New seat for b2710

I have a good bit of land and one of my tractors is a b2710. Over the mile and a half to my back fields, I get thrown around thanks to not having any shocks/springs under the seat. Anybody replaced their seat on a B series? My M7040 bounces with the bumps and is TONS better.

    Method of bush hogging

What is your preferred method in wasting as little time as possible in cutting a field that's roughly rectangular? Spiraling around the edge going inward, long straight parallel paths, etc. My pet peeve is backing up, or riding and not cutting.

    Turning plow question

I have a Ford 101 3 bottom plow. I have never had the bottoms 'trip' but apparently this triggers a pin, which prevents the whole thing from bending if I get hung Ina rock etc. My question is: do these pins have to be replaced every time they trip? I'm just not sure what to expect.

    Herbicide question

I know this isn't a true 'tractor' question, but I have a sprayer and I have planted a decent size sunflower field a few weeks ago and I would like to add a post emergent herbicide to the field. In doing some research, I have come across "poast plus" as the best herbicide that will do the job...

    M7040 wont start

Cut my tractor off today after discing, and couldn't get it started again. Battery works, fuses intact, dash board says PTO is engaged, which is not the case! I think the tractor "thinks" PTO is on, which prevents tractor from starting. Anyone had this problem before? Tractor is a kubota m7040...

    Covington planter question

Just bought a one row Covington planter for some spring planting. Anyone have any experience with planting sunflowers? The chart shows a plate #TP550 for "sunflowers and sorghum". First of all, sunflower seeds are quite big and sorghum (aka milo) is a grain and pretty small, how could they use...

    Kubota m7040 draft control?

I have a 2009 m7040 and I recently bought a 3 bottom plow. It has been pulling well, without much difficulty. After doing some research, I realize that I might should be using the draft control feature on my tractor- which I didn't even know that it had (prior to plow, I was only bushhogging). I...

    Tractor tire goo

I have a little tractor that I use every few months and always seems to have a slow leak, what is your favorite "tire goo" or other option?

    Attaching PTO

I recently took my bush hog off for another implement and I am now going to reattach the bush hog, but am having trouble with the PTO shaft hooking up with the tractor. All the dimensions are correct and the slip clutch is easily moveable when not slid over the end of the drive shaft on the...

    Importance of coulters?

About to get a plow, I know what coulters do, but how much easier, if any, do they make it to pull the plow? Are there any benefits other than some ease of pull and maybe a better looking field?

Dirt Moving  3 bottom plow advice?

I am in the market for a new 3 bottom moldboard plow to bread up new ground that has been bushhogged. I am looking at plowing between 5-10 acres for planting corn, sunflowers, and watermelon, and want a good seedbed. I am in Alabama and I can't find a single dealership or equipment dealer with...
