Kubota M5660SUHD caught on fire (60hrs)!

Torvy, I'm under the impression that "nature" would be wind storms, trees falling on insured property, hail damage, etc. Things like that. I don't think they regard rodent damage as nature. If you get a chance, how about ask your insurance agent, and/or check your homeowners policy. I know...

I'd like to know what insurance company regards mice damage as vandalism. AFAIK, mice, rats, and squirrel damage is not covered, as they are rodents, which are specifically excluded in many/most insurance policies.

Buying Advice Help me spend money on a tractor

Don't know if you've seen this, but it's definitely worth watching. I've had my 2032R for only 2 years, but have done a lot of work with it. Don't under-estimate the 2 series; they underwent a major upgrade back in 2017, when John Deere came out with the Gen 2 series 2R's. head to head...

The Hydraulic Fight is Over - Hydraulic Coupling Pressure Relief Tool

My post was not directed at you. I quoted it to the previous poster, since it seems you have found that worked for you, same as me. I have not run into a situation where the implement's lines, connected together, allowed hydraulic pressure build-up that would prevent me from normal connector...

The Hydraulic Fight is Over - Hydraulic Coupling Pressure Relief Tool

The Hydraulic Fight is Over - Hydraulic Coupling Pressure Relief Tool

I just don't understand why the people having all these problems with connecting their grapple, don't simply shut off the engine, cycle the joystick once, and (key ON, engine OFF) cycle the grapple control once. That is all I do, and that eliminates pressurized fittings. As far as the sun...

Have you ever sold a tractor due to no dealer support?

Yet what you are considering doing (selling the tractor you know and very much like), and buying an SOB (some other brand) tractor, which you may not be so lucky with it's reliability, is not practical. To me, you're throwing money away on the off-chance that later, you will have a big problem...

I would email Ken, and ask if he can fit one up for you. I think he can, as he has other size hydraulic connects. If not, buy the gauge (Ken or Amazon), a hydraulic hose and the required fitting at TS, Amazon or local shop, and make one up yourself.

    Rototiller sized for 25hp tractor

I would say it is probably too much tiller for that tractor. I think a 48" is more the right size for a 25hp (remembering that your 25hp tractor does not have 25 hp rating for the PTO). You might get away with a 60", but in ground that's never been roto-tilled, it would be under-powered, IMO.

I went to look at 5 or 6 different brands before I made my decision. Grasshopper zero turn clutch question - clutch or solenoid/electrical?

May not have anything to do with the problem, but I've got a Woods Mow'n Machine (diesel) that I bought new in 1997/98. Drain all the gas including the fuel filter. Open the bleed screw for the injectors, and drain all the fuel you can. Refuel with diesel and pre-fill the fuel filter. Try it. Smoke, rough running and no power above an idle

Bill, I agree about the cause of white smoke, but I also have seen air filters where the pleated filter material had ruptured and allowed dirt into the diesel (referred as "dusting the engine". For the price of an air filter, I would not be trying to save a buck and re-use one that is how old?

If just blowing a little dust out of that air filter, seemed to clear the problem, I'd have to believe that filter is still packed with dirt, but cleared just enough for the engine to run better. At the very least, replace the air filter(s) with new, brand name quality filters, before that...

Welcome, from the First State of the United States. As others have already said, your grammar is more than good, and I also look forward to pictures that you may post, of literally anything in or around rancho and your new Yanmar (great tractor). BTW, it sounds like rancho is quite a nice piece...

Advice on building a tractor shed?

Consider doing as much of the work as you can, and save a lot of the cost to build. Contact lumber suppliers, and ask for wholesale/contractor pricing, and that you are the general contractor for a construction project. Do your own site-work; leveling, grading, spreading gravel, etc. You've got...

    Automatic whole house generator systems.

Generac whole house generators are fine. If I had NG or propane here, I would have bought one, but with already having fuel oil, and being able to draw from it, I went with diesel. I don't know if its ok to link to a non-competitive forum, so I won't post it, but if you look for the zillerstore...

    Ordered a 2022 Ram 2500

O.P. very nice choice of truck and options,; BigBlue, I didn't know they charge for remote start. I came soooo close to buying a new Laramie back in 2020; I test drove a couple of them, and really liked them, AND the fact that rear camera could be monitored while driving. But I bought a new F150...

    Your last generator Maintenance Run

Thanks. It works well, and between the DynaGen programmable controller (supplied with the generator), and the Thomson programmable controller in the ATS, there are programmable schedules to run without load, other can be set to run with load; relay functions to control equipment such as remote...

How much weight can safely be suspended from center of 2"x2" square tube 9' long?

How much weight can safely be suspended from center of 2"x2" square tube 9' long? If a 2" square, 1/8" wall box tube, 9' long, was installed horizontal, and supported only at the ends, how much weight could be safely suspended from it's center? I looked online for structural info on box...

Should I remove and reposition hitch lugs, or simply add 2 new ones?

Just to follow up, I followed Gary's advice, and ground off the welds, removed the tabs, and cleaned up the area where they will be relocated. Set them in position, and welded, and had to close a hole in the sheet, where I didn't grind the old weld off enough. It ripped a piece out when I bent...

Should I remove and reposition hitch lugs, or simply add 2 new ones?

Here's a pic of a QuickHitch/IMatch and a compatible ballast box. I'm thinking that raising the bottom lugs to the right height, will still let me set the box on blocks, and still provide good ground clearance when tractoring. So the question for those of you that have done it, can the welds be...

Should I remove and reposition hitch lugs, or simply add 2 new ones?

The ballast box I bought has the lower hitch pin lugs welded near the bottom of the box, which is 23"+ below the top link. I need hitch pins at 16" below the top link, so I am considering either grinding off the welds, remove the tabs and welding them at the proper location, OR leave them (or...

Should I keep or convert my old AC stick welder?

Just home workshop, so I don't do all that much welding. I have a Miller 180 MIG welder, and a really old Craftsman AC stick welder that I bought new in 1980. I haven't used it much lately, although I did some welding with it a few months ago. Problem is, it is an AC only machine. For welding...
