The loader on my DK45 will no longer stay in float position. unless I manually hold the joystick down and then it floats. What would cause this?

    DK45 Work Light

Thanks. Those were the work light wires. I need to get a switch but man that LED light beats halogen big time. Got it installed just in time for the nor' easter too! This one is 60 degrees and lights up behind the tractor perfectly.

    DK45 Work Light

I want to install a worklight on the back of my DK45 (no cab) so i can see where i'm going when blowing snow at night. I picked up a 24w LED light. I found 2 wires (black & red) at the back right hand side of the tractor. I thought they might be for a work light but when i called a local dealer...

    Home made wood splitter

I've always used a wood maul but looked at splitters this year. I usually split between 7 and 10 cord so for me not worth the price of a new one. But for $350, this splitter was made from scrap parts. It ain't super fast, it splits about 1 cord in 2 hours, I can split straight grained wood...

    Replacement Filters for DK45 SE

Anyone know the replacement number for an equivilent oil filter made by Fram or other quality name? Kioti filters seem over priced. For that matter what about the HST and Hydraulic filters as well?

Chipper  My New Wallenstein BX42 Chipper

Picked up a BX42 for $2800 CAN. (That's about $2250 US) I can't belive how this thing just eats wood. I didn't bother with the hydrolic feed and I don't even see why you would need one - it pretty much pulled the wood right through. So far I give this chipper 2 thumbs up. A video of the chipper...

    Tiller  Kverneland Tillers

I picked up a PL150. It's a great tiller and made short work of my garden but I don't know much about them. Anyone else have one? I tried google but not much on their web site and nothing on the PL150. There are two places for gear oil, I assume 80w but not sure how full they should be?

    Kioti scrapper blades - improved

if anyone ever owned a Kioti scrapper blade you probably know they weren't built very rugged. I wonder if that's why Kioti stopped selling them? Anyway, I twisted mine up pretty good, I should have taken before pics but I did take some after shots of the new and improved blade. It will not twist...

    Chipper  Chipper Blades

How often would chipper blades need to be sharpened, roughly in hours? For that matter, how often would you have to replace the blades? These questions are assuming normal use and not feeding any wire or rebar thru the chipper...

    Tractor Reliability

I used TBN to do some research before I bought my new tractor. One thing that struck me was how folks are giving their relativley new tractors two thumbs up for reliabilty. I have a Massey 165 that's been around since 1974 and even in sub-zero temps, I give it a shot of quick-start and it...

    My New DK45 HST

Took delivery of my new 45. So far I love it, the HST makes moving snow sooo easy. I'm coming from a 1974 Massey 165 - it's like going from a volkswagon to a cadillac. Put about 10 hours on it doing some odd chores...but with 10-12" of snow forecast, I might get to clock lots more hours...

Dealer  Not Happy with MF Dealer

Currently have a 1974 MF165, wanted to get a new massey with 4wd and better breaks, etc - so I figure I'll buy a new 2615 utility model. ok, so in June 2008 I go to my MF dealer and order a new tractor, we do all the paperwork and spec it out... well, it's February 2009 and still no tractor. I...

    Buying DK45 HST

Thinking about replacing my MF165. There is a 2008 demo model at the dealer with 300 hrs + loader - no cab, asking $28,000 CAN. Is this a good price? What would this tractor normally go for?

Chipper  Wallenstein BX42S Chipper Rotor Weight

I'm considering buying this chipper. The Wallenstein web site states the rotor weight as only being 74lbs. The Wallenstein literature I got from the dealer states 110 lbs. Does anyone know the actual weight?
