Ok, I sold my bx1830 with mower & blower. I now am in need of something for my new digs. I'll have 1+ acre of flat lawn and ~125ft of driveway to take care of. I have a couple of thoughts on things:

1. get a "cheaper" mower, maybe a box store ztr and an atv w/ plow

2. bx which I know all about and do love them
I can't decide between a blower or bucket if I go this route.

3. jd x7xxx

Any thoughts on any of the above choices? The jd seems way overpriced compared to the bx?

How much snow do you average per year ?

125 ft of driveway snow removal might be a lot different between say Virginia and Vermont.

Unless your on the coast you better have a plan "B".. The guy up the street from me has an ATV he does his drive with,,"not very long" and if he doesn't get out there and do it every 3" then he is buried,,

That's what I was afraid of. The old owner uses an atv, but I've always been skeptical as to how they actually work.

I use a Polaris sportsman 600 v-twin with a 4 ft blade and angled I have no problem pushing 10" of snow at a time.

I'd get the BX with a blower, but not an expert - why did you sell your old setup?

I "was" going to move south.. Figured it would take months to sell, but it sold in 3 days. Since, we have decided to stay closer to family. So, here I am.

An ATV would work most of the time and if you had a walk behind snow blower the two would take care of your snow. But they'll never be a BX. If you had other plans for the ATV, say playing with it on the weekends or hauling firewood then it would make more sense. I've never been a big fan of using the FEl to remove snow, just seams like too long of a process, 125ft I think I would just get a rear mounted blower and the FEL to maximize it's flexibility.

Things to think about... How many pieces of equipment (toys) do you want to maintain? How much garage/shop space do you have to park equipment in?
I personally would stay with the orange market. Sounds like a BX2660 would be perfect. A loader is handy in the warm months for landscaping, but not good for pushing snow. I have the snow blade and it works great. I have whittled through a 5' drift before. Blower??? up to you. It uses the same sub-frame as the plow.
