I have a 1050 with a leaking seal somewhere behind the right front wheel. It's a MFWD. Is this a DIY repair? Has anyone out there tackled a job like this?

Thanks,
Eric

I did it on my 950. Not that big of a job but more than likely the seals have worn grooves in the upper housing and you will need to sleeve. Hoye sells a sleeve but it痴 too thick and will likely require enlarging the hole in the lower hub. Here is a pic of the sleeve I used which allowed me to use the original part number seals and did not require modification of the hub. You will need to be careful to reinstall the shims exactly as removed as they establish the relationship (backlash) between the gears. Mine no longer leak one drop.

What did you use to get sleeve all the way up on shaft?
