Transmission/hydraulic fluid on a 110tlb. The book recommends regular hy-gard but dipstick says low viscosity? I see the temp ranges in the book, but what’s everyone using and why does dipstick say low viscosity?

I use regular hy-gard. Will look at dipstick tomorrow to see if it says low viscosity. Not sure if it makes a difference, mine is an 2008. My book says: use regular, but low can be used. ??? I see your confusion. Just by temps, low would not work for me.

Here is some info:
Difference Between J2C & J2D Fluid | Sciencing

The service manual reads John Deere J20C (J20D Cold Service).

I also see they say you can use Hygard in a Ford New Holland that calls for NH134D spec.

I use Travelers Premium in my Ford/New Holland and my John Deere 4310. I think my 4310 is in the same family as your 110TLB. Travelers Premium lists both Hygard and 134D on the compatibility label.

Similar question came up last week with my 4x2 Gator in the transaxle. Manual says Hygard, but use Low Vis if running in below zero temps..

I had Low Vis on hand so used it. Running okay near as I can tell.

Changed the fluid because the brakes were squealing more than normal, and transaxle not holding (free-wheeling) going downhill.
Much improved on both counts since the oil change.
