The fuel valve stem seals gave way on my TO-30, leading to a persistent fuel leak, even with the valve off. New parts are on the way.

I'm wondering, any tricks to installation of the new assembly? Do I assume the threads into the gas tank are NPT, requiring no sealer?

You'll have to drain the tank to install it. I use Teflon tape when I install it. make sure that the sediment bow assembly to get has the dal standpipes so that you have the reserve capability . That will save you some grief if to you forget to fill it and you run the tank down to the reserve level.

Thanks, Jerry/MT. I had heard about Teflon tape and wanted to confirm.

As to draining the tank, my property is steep enough that I can park with the right front wheel downhill and uncover the pickup with a fairly low fuel level.

Some lil tape, I usually don't, but I I do, use yellow, and avoid thin strips or shreds that can clig carb ports.

I usually use gasoila or similar paste , but either work..
