I've got a good friend that has a '70 3000 gas unit...he's redoing the hydraulic pump. Wants to change all the fluids. He ask me how much fluid to put in..I don't think he has the manual..Soundguy/other Ford folks...how much trans/hyd goes in the trans and how much in the diff? Appreciate it!! BobG in VA

off hand.. I don't recall.. but there are level check plugs.

trans is one sump.. hyds and diffy are another.. diffy level check is a pip plug on the back side of the left axle trumpet.. trans is a plug on the right side by the running board

both plugs should be on the right side above the running board the one in trans and one in the diff right below the flow control valve and the i believe it should take around 7 to 8 gallons to fill both compartments

yep.. you're right. more I think about it.

my lat 68 3000 square axle don't have a plug on the left axle trum[et like the 00/01 do.. .. it does have plug on the right side center housing aft of the running board.

the 4000/4600 have the plug on the pump round plate or near it.. and the 5000 will have that plug back there in back.

too new for me sometimes.. :) i like the prior models better.. :)

i dont blame you about liking the prior models better they seem to me atleast simpler to work on
